That reprise (which Rachel Bloom had posted on YouTube yesterday, but it was still awesome today) was delightful. Also, the “that doesn’t impress me much” made me laugh much more than I should admit.

It’s a fantastic, utterly rewatchable comedy. I was lucky enough to see it during its limited theatrical release and the audience was dying. I’d be hard pressed to think of a time I’ve laughed harder at the theater than I did during the sandwich line.
I’m pretty partial to “No, if I know Stu, this was probably the way he wanted to go. Disembowelled by werewolves. Blood and guts splayed onto the trees. His face torn to shreds. I hope I made you feel better.”
I was genuinely shocked by how much it made me laugh, as I find mockumentary a very mixed bag of a genre, but yeah, it’s head and shoulders above most comedies I’ve seen recently.
Matt Berry has been cast, which means it’s going to be amazing.
I just saw it for the first time last week, after having really enjoyed Ragnarok, and it’s the most I’ve laughed at a comedy in years.
I’m hoping the American documentary’s conceit is that the New Zealand documentary was a success and now the Americans want a piece of the pie, damn it.
“We want brilliant, groundbreaking, original TV!...Wait, not like that.”
Where in this does Matt come across as either outraged or mad? Is an essay that looks at a piece of pop culture through a feminist or at least non-straight white male lens and that doesn’t fawn over the pop culture in question automatically angry and outraged? Is angry and outraged (I’m surprised you didn’t use the…
Bruhl’s had an interesting career. When I first saw him in Goodbye, Lenin!, I never would have guessed he’d have such success in American movies and television;. A nice surprise.
I am so pumped about The Alienist! I love the bejeezus out of Daniel Bruhl, and given the similar time period I hope this will that gaping hole in my soul left after The Knick was cancelled.
It always helps when a “serious actor” commits to the sketches and just has fun with them (see Peter Dinkelage - “Space Pants”).
“He’s been pounding pineapple juice to keep everything sweet.”
“I love how woke it is in here right now.”
You know several women who’re sad because they’re not getting groped as much as they were three months ago? Okay then, the rest of us promise not to talk about our experiences ever again! Crisis averted! Grope your friends extra tomorrow to make up for what they’ve missed.
I mean...I was under the impression that you can interact romantically with another person without harassing or assaulting them. I was sure that it had happened to me several times in my life, but maybe I was wrong?
Make Sucker Punch, his supposed passion-project, which was a misogynist garbage fire of a movie?
I mean, I don’t hate the guy personally, but his whole career has been “if Michael Bay went to art school.”
