Sigh. Colin Firth.

That doesn't matter. His claim is pretty vague and exists in the Land of I Am Not Sure. Before the movie was made, and as he was growing up, he wasn't the member of a tribe.

There is no such thing as custody by default, and fathers are being considered much more regularly now for full custody.

It doesn't really seem like repeating me so much as repeating something we should all know. That's nice for Invincible. It would be nice to imagine I had something to do with that, but it's hard to tell if he got that here or just knew of her. She's really good. Her career totally needs to go national.

Ah. A kinja moment. It has you responding to me over here.

my lord. I wish my job were "hammock."

The children are wonderful, especially the robot part.

I think this was their way of saying how happy that they were that it was finally struck down. It was showing their support. It wasn't about trying to 'steal the day' but to support the day. Supportive support is good.

The only ignorance here belongs to you, thinking that racism is something white people experience. Sad and pathetic.

No. Honey, no. Racism isn't something a white person can really experience. Discrimination, perhaps. But, there is no institutional discrimination happening to a white person.

In this particular case, the driver had a lot of time to assess the situation. It would have been a super smart move to call at that time. Of course, if you're just sitting there and have no idea someone is angry and about to get out of his or her car, preparing to hurt you, dialing 911 is still doable, but you're

Um. So, you basically missed my entire post for your own agenda there. I mentioned calling the police. No escalation. Vehicle large and safe. Could easily hurt someone who actually threatened you, but probably isn't necessary.

A very competitive school is going to want a 4.0 or more. At least. Plus, the SAT was ... wow ... 1180.

Yup. I know.

Yeah, don't call me honkey. ;)

True. There's no convincing someone with evidence when that person doesn't want to see it.

Why do I need to know her? For admission to a college, are you suggesting the admission staff must know each student? I'm looking very dispassionately at her scores. Her SAT score is awful. Her GPA isn't strong enough. She wasn't in the top 10% of her class. She had no extracurriculars to speak of. I have no idea

Nope. You need to learn reading comprehension. I never argued that at all. I don't think the college used race even in the slightest when considering her for admission. Just the opposite. I think her scores, which were low, were the factors that prevented her admission. I say it several thousand times in my post.

I'm telling you this IS what happens in admission processes. It's not a guess.

No, I'm not. I'm telling you this how they are judged. Really. They start with legacies. Rich legacies. Then, they move to the best students. In this case, the top ten percent of each high school get in, if they so chose to go to that school. Then, after that, they look at students for various other factors. GPA.
