It's a big mess that will lead to trouble. If they do work to find certain things, that's their choice to do that, for a lot of other reasons that are completely for sale. Owning a gene is ridiculous. It's the same with Monsanto and their damned patented seeds. It leads to serious problems.

How could anyone call her ugly? That's insane. People are so dumb sometimes. She seems like a fantastic choice to me.

My takeaway is the disgust at letting some company patent a gene. Really, people? Greed knows no bounds, evidently.

Unfortunately, statistics indicate a problem with seeing reality, when so much fantasy surrounds us. You sound like you have it under control, but I worry about those who do not.

I guess. But, it really seems a bit picky. What we mean is 'all sizes,' but what we get is a pretend person. When I say 'real,' I mean not photoshopped.

The example you've used is kind of a strawman, isn't it? I'm not saying the 'real beauty' stuff works entirely. Dove, for example, used real women to advertise cream for cellulite at first. However, a move to more realistic female forms, that is, not completely manufactured by the computer, would be a good thing.

You want to know why that second comment happened? Because this very thing has happened HERE before. And I spent countless hours dealing with someone who wanted to tell me how me how to behave. I didn't like it then, and I don't like it now. Your interpretation was wrong.

Since I wasn't body shaming, as there was no actual body/person/anyone, nor did I mention the penis, but only shamed the actual joke, even by your own interpretation, I'm fine.

I'm not though. I'm very nice. I just don't like people imposing their own issues on me, which is what is happening here. Nothing in the original comment is offensive in the slightest. But, the interpretations have really taken some interesting turns.

Just to help, you mean misandry.

It wasn't misogyny. Don't you mean another word? And you're wrong about my point. But, I have a feeling you're only half-reading, as you are busy getting to your own (self) righteousness.

I'm not pretending I don't know what ad homenim means. I'm amazed you think my original comment has it in it somewhere. And yes, I did call you stupid. Sorry. Let me rephase: The things you are saying are stupid. In my opinion.

Ad hominem attacks. Are you kidding me? Against WHO? The first person who ever said the dumb "hot dog in a hallway" comment? This is complete nonsense. I don't agree. You are wrong. I'm not having this argument anymore. What else is there to say?

I saw the report. I'm not convinced that means she walked back her argument, only that the police person thought so.

No, it doesn't. That's a ridiculous claim. Pointing out that the phrase 'hot dog down a hallway' never presupposes that the hot dog is at fault actually makes the larger point that the whole phrase is ridiculous. That you missed that is a sad commentary on you. I'm tired, unto death, of hearing these foolish arguments

Right. Now, you go find the specific man I was body-shaming. I'll wait here thinking you're acting stupidly.

Provide a source, please. Because I can't find that anywhere.

Yes, and it's started to get on my nerves. It feels a bit retro, like I should stay in my place. Well, forget that crap. I'm not doing it.

No. I've had this argument before now. It was a silly joke, turning the weirdness of hot dog in a hallway on its head. Nothing more. Men's bits are not off limits, like some sort of golden wonder. So, I'll continue to make a gentle joke or two, and it will not harm feminism. Because that's silly.

Yeah, I don't buy that. But, it's true I can't prove it. However, I will say it's more likely the girl learned that behavior at home and took it out into the world than the other way around.
