Oh, that's an interesting piece of advice. I've always offered the hand palm up because that's how I offer it to a horse, but that's a good piece of advice.
They are very, very stubborn and strong-willed. I'm not saying this to throw you off, but they are very hard to train if you don't know what you're doing. They are great dogs in many ways. Good watch dogs. Good at bonding. They can be good with kids if raised with them. But, wow, they are stubborn.
Thanks. I just don't want her to become afraid of dogs, since we can't really afford to have one right now. And it's good manners, besides.
My child has rules about dogs. She asks first if it's okay to pet the dog and then, if it's a yes, what is the dog's favorite spot, like ears or neck. Then, she puts her palm out, flat, to let the dog get a bit of a sniff. Then, she gets to pet the dog.
I would love that article. It's interesting how social norms change.
You have a point. The patriarchy hurts us all. Women are expected to show their desirability, and men are expected to assume that they are desirable. Neither is really expected to celebrate it at all, in any way that is direct. It's a bit ridiculous, really.
I agree completely. I have a friend who constantly puts up photos of herself, new ones, and then, tries to put some false modesty in there with "Such a geek!" or "Getting older" or "In my business clothes!" But, really, she just wants to hear she's hot.
The word 'gender' can be used as a verb. It's completely proper use. The sentence is backing away a little. Perhaps, "We assign insecurity as a feminine quality, one that is less desired or desirable, in the male sex." Or, "In part, the double standard equates insecurity with the feminine. So, certain types of vanity…
I must disagree. I find pictures of men quite appealing. I think some of that might be societal conditioning and not actual difference in sex/gender preferences.
I'm not really sure where this article is heading. Is there another article that goes with it?
And this moronic asshole is making money saying these amazingly stupid things. It's damned depressing.
A restaurant is a public space. Now, certain restaurants may have rules about certain behaviors. If so, and you get a chance to go to a very, very fancy restaurant, that's great for you. But, most do allow children. Therefore, you are in the public. With children. You're going to have to get over this because this is…
That is a good one, but ldc219 said it, not me.
Well, as Donnie Rumsfeld said, "There are known knowns. There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there also are unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know."
::wiggling eyebrows:: Person's gotta have some secrets.
Strangely, self reflection passes by some people who are very self-proclaimed Christians. Critical thought is absent as well. There are sane Christians, however, and these crap must really piss them off, which they must then try to forgive.
haha!
haha! I know!
I have. Oh my.
