1st Gear: You need a LOT of marketing dollars to make that dent. And time. And more dollars. It doesn’t happen overnight.

I think that was a not-so-subtle jab at Top Gear not having their hope fulfilled that Grand Tour would be going away. As long as CHM have a show that even remotely has a car in it, Top Gear will always be second best.
In my rather limited viewing of episodes by this crew I find that their non-studio pieces are regurgitated versions from the CHM period. You can almost pick out the phrases and set-up’s that are pure Clarkson scripting.
My response to “What’s your best price?” is an increase of 25%. That would be the best price for me!
I own and drive 3 different cars (Z4, Smart, Subaru) and somehow I can manage to remember how the turn signals work in each. I must be a friggin’ genius!
Who looks at the turn signal stalk to see what position it is in? I verify that my directionals are on by looking for the flashing turn light on the dash. And when you cancel a turn signal by moving the stalk in the opposite direction it does not turn that signal on UNLESS you pull it all the way in that direction. It…
After just completing a 1,500 mile round trip on the interstate I have come to the conclusion that most semi drivers are the worst drivers on the road. I remember when they were the best drivers on the road.
The reason that the UK is so expensive is due to taxes. Once they reach a tipping point of having a large percentage of electric cars you will see the taxation of electricity rise to cover the loss in revenue.

Obviously you’ve never been to either.
He may very well be a nice guy but his opinions on food and his food are shite.
In my experience the paperwork is the least of the problems re-entering the country. Having too few agents available to send people through is probably the biggest hassle. I’ve never had an issue entering a foreign country but it has been a nightmare at times coming home. JFK can be a nightmare.
If I recall correctly (someone mentioned in a post a few months ago) that all new EV sales in Arizona will now be hit with a 20% of vehicle cost registration fee. This is put in place because they are not deriving any gas tax revenue. Now a $50k vehicle is now a $60k vehicle. Ouch.
There are thousands of bootleg gas-powered bicycles throughout the greater Phoenix area. I’d say that these are far more prevalent than e-bikes.
The forums on Rick Steves’ site.
While Steves’ work 10-15 years ago was extremely helpful for folks beginning to travel to Europe, where his brand’s strength now is in the online user forums. I spend more time there answering and asking questions rather than rely on the garbage that TA fosters.
I HAD been a huge advocate and reviewer on TA for years. No longer, due to this and the fact that it became the Yelp of travel review sites. That and it became just a giant shitbowl of advertising and pimping travel deals. I avoid TA like crazy now. They diluted their brand and their ability to be any kind of trusted…
Keep making more/different beers. It is all subjective. My only request is that please have a bitter or a porter or a brown ale on tap for every 4 taps of IPA’s. Thank you.
Go to You Tube and search “Michael Palin travel”. While they are not “new”, they are brilliant travel shows.
A NY/NJ friend held all the stereotypical views of the Midwest. He never could get past what he “knew” about the place and the people. Until he went there. About a month after his visit he was all excited because now he was a member of his local Moose lodge.
