I love this record. It's definitely my favorite Jawbox record and I always thought it was crazy underrated and underappreciated. Hearing about his songwriting process is pretty great, even though it makes me feel like a shitty songwriter as I've always been a "put parts together" kind of guy. This is funny though:

"It Follows" delivered on its hype while "The Babadook" was seriously underwhelming. I'd move "It Follows" up a few spots. The rest is pretty good (except for "Mulholland Drive" because are you fucking kidding me?)

Keaton's going for a Steve vibe, but everything else is straight out of Pee Wee's Playhouse, right down to the stutter of the electronics.

This is great and you are stupid. The idea itself is tremendous and the edits are excellent. They did not just loop a line. They changed pitch, etc, matched it up perfectly. Get out of town, boner.
