It’s okay if Taylor Swift isn’t your cup of tea. But what a choice to try and undermine her work as a songwriter lol.

I am 62, I loved the 80's, and more power to every one of these incredible kids. Why in all of hell would anyone tell them they are ‘fake’ or ‘not doing it right?’. That’s just jealousy, I think. And it’s wrong. The 80's were amazing, for a lot of reasons - why not play with them again? I support this!
Def Leopard
the hell is wrong with disco? I’ll never understand the hate such a joyful, inclusive genre of music got.
The draft ended in 1973 and most Vietnam vets would be in their 30s by the 80s.
In my opinion, 1983 is the magic year for “Eighties Music.” By then, all the late-to-the-game-disco-is dead records are not in the picture but musicians are still experimenting with new technologies and the global influences are starting to filter in.
Agreed. As for style and culture, I have always thought the decades follow more like half decade to half decade 65-75, 75-85, etc. The early 80's were like the late 70's and the crazy dayglow, big hair styles went from the mid 80's to mid 90's.
I graduated high school in 1979, so came of age in the 80's. It was a blast! I often say how I feel sorry for kids today, because they don’t have the freedom we had.
this is adorable. as a fan of 40s and 50s silhouettes, i say let the youths have their large hair and neon shoes. I love each and everyone of them for their commitment.
I remember watching the show and thinking about how ridiculous it was that their witnesses always recollected events perfectly even if it was 50 years ago.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention how unabashedly left wing the show is. Not saying this makes it good, but the show would often use the cold cases to explore racism, sexism, homophobia, classism, etc. I feel that’s kind of rare for a cop show.
keep up with the Jones’.
This show is making me nuts. I don’t know why I watch it. Everyone is terrible. My theory is that Samantha realized that Carrie is a selfish, awful friend, got tired of the three of them having to constantly tend to her, and decided to make some sweeping life changes.
She’s lived in a bubble sine she was a teenager. She never had anything close to appropriate social interactions throughout most of her life. And she’s directing her anger at real people who caused her real harm. Cut the gal some slack.
If not for the male gaze, what purpose do cheerleaders at major games serve?
Young Keanu in Parenthood as Tod... brilliant.
My favorite story is Octavia Spencer’s car stalling in traffic, and Keanu roaring up behind her on his motorcycle to push her car out of the intersection.
I know it’s early, but the sheer number of typos here is a bit much.
I highly recommend listening to the You’re Wrong About series on her book, it unexpectedly sucked me in. It’s a great snapshot of the late 90's early 00's. Also the Justin Timberlake stuff is just so gross, I never realized what a true terror he’s always been.
I’m not gonna lie, I snorted at that. Meghan McCain trying to act all high and mighty but tripping over basic word usage is just *chef’s kiss.*
