It’s been said before, by myself and people smarter than me, that Trump is a poor man’s idea of wealth, a classless person’s idea of class, and a loser’s idea of success.

As far as I can tell, it’s because of “the joy” which comes from doing something you love (dancing for people) and getting recognition and perks (hanging with rappers / going to super bowl).

I think that piece about the Parkland mother is interesting. I’m not surprised that when confronted, Greene avoids conflict. Can you imagine telling that woman to her face she’s lying about her daughter being murdered? Greene doesn’t have the backbone for that, so she dodged.

Yes, raisins and apples are key ingredient’s in Aunt Karen’s Tuna Salad.

I’m of the opinion that national news organizations ought to refrain from heavily covering back bench congresspeople unless they are doing something extraordinary or related to their jobs. Coverage like this is oxygen for them - our outrage and scorn is what fuels people like Marjorie Greene. Matt Gaetz, and Cawthorn

I can’t speak for the OP here but yes. I think most people in the US, when they have the option to choose among similar products, will choose the one not made in China. That said, it’s not really the same.

You’ve never had a lunch meeting before?

If I may... I think the point being made here is that, in practical terms, the US is not a democracy and so just because a policy polls well nationally does not mean it’s politically efficacious for a President to pursue that policy. Gun control measures, for example, are very popular becuase almost everyone in blue

Yes, except that Obama all but asked her to retire in 2014 when they knew Democrats were likely to lose the Senate. They were too deferntial to her wishes and should have pushed harder. The idea that a Hillary presidential win was something you could take to the bank in 2014 was some very magical thinking.

GTA Vice City was awesome. San Andreas got soooo tedious. You’d drive between cities for what felt like hours and have to literally sit at stoplights if cop was there. How is sitting at a stop light fun at all?

Like baloney

About what, exactly? And what does being under or over 50 have to do with it?

Or, alternatively, a slogan that means different things to different people but lots of them can get behind. While the author here sneers at “Yes We Can.” I can personally attest to chanting it with gusto along with a quarter million other people in Grant Park on Nov 4 2008.

I’m starting to get so sick of AOC. She DOES just tweet from her safe, deep blue congressional seat. The people of Georgia would never elect her as a Senator and her pithy tweets setting up false choices don’t help anyone but herself. But maybe she knows that.

This is not really that fair. The Inn has a large outdoor space and the Inn and its staff can enforce only what they see. However, outdoor gatherings aren’t itself 100% safe and they can’t monitor the whole premises 100% of the time. If a groups got together in their rooms without masks, for example, what’s the Inn

Lambert’s Cove is an Inn / B&B with a large outdoor space. It’s very off the beaten path. Edgartown doesn’t have any large outdoor venues that I’m aware of. I’d guess they moved to Lambert’s Cove so they could have it outdoors.

I don’t know that they really had anyone to carry the moderate banner. Jeb! was probably not really the right person. Maybe Kasich or Rubio? Anyway, you are right and Democrats learned from this and cleared the field early. I think this wasn’t as nefarious as people make it out to be, as I’m sure Buttigieg,

They initially planned to marry in June, but were told by their original venue in Edgartown, Massachusetts, that they could only have 17 people at the wedding. So the two canceled, downsized by 100 guests, and moved their celebration to Martha’s Vineyard.

I’m all for keeping the gueard up. However, I have to say that pledging not to remove Trump is not the same as a coup. He’s just saying that it’s up to civilian authorities to remove Trump from office.

This x10000. Lil’ October was in-person for school and then we all had to go remote because there were kids getting COVID from outside activities (our suspicion is Halloween parties). We both work while many other parents have a stay at home, so it’s even more frustrating that the more well-to-do families likely ruined
