Unfortunately, I don’t think its back to the drawing board. I think its blatant ignorance of multiple people that allowed Uber (specifically, their software) on the streets. A quick look at how Google (or even Tesla) software handles a similar situation would show how pathetic Ubers is in comparison. Specifically now

I’m amazed at the flak you get for this comment. Should she have stepped in front of a car? Of course not, and who knows if she was doing something purposeful. The point being that the system should have seen her, made a value judgement and at least attempted to stop. The computer should have made that call far faster

It’s all about optics. Framing and first impressions. Today “it’s her fault”. Tomorrow, “it couldn’t have been avoided”. By Friday, “maybe it could have been avoided but it’s old news and who cares anyway because robot cars are super-safe”.

The bigger issue to me is that the car seemingly took no action. That needs to be confirmed, but considering that all the “what-ifs” and issues with self driving cars really revolve around how the car reacts to some sudden, unpredictable event, it’s cause for concern. Getting a car from point A to point B on a paved

“Like others have said, a machine needs to be better- faster- smarter- than a human; otherwise, what’s the point?”

The point here isn’t “a human driver might have killed the pedestrian, too.”

When I worked for Hertz, I cut my arm on the door pillar plastic while reaching for the seatbelt in a Compass.

I’d say that you’re even burning.

I already know everything I want to know about this beauty because I have been stalking religiously since it came out a few years ago... All I want to know is SUBARU........WHY WON’T YOU BRING IT HERE AS A WRX WAGON???!?!?!?!

I know that you can go down the “buy used” wormhole forever, but this car really fits the bill for that.

The fucking Mirage.

There are totally bad cars. Mitsubishi Mirage & Dodge Journey spring to mind.

A good read, but the comments on the article will make you want to leave this planet.

Yup, problem is I’ve looked and there’s not much LSD wise for that particular diff housing. It could definitely use deeper gears (the 0-60 on the knobbies is seriously like 20-25 seconds) but I think the best way to go about it is a ford 8.8IRS center section and some custom half shafts, that way you can get whatever

The main wing was NOT as good as concorde. That’s why they added the Canards. The TU-144 wing was only good at supersonic flight. It performed poorly at landing speed.

I said I’d never buy another Ford, and I stuck to my guns on the RS and the Escape, but if they actually build a modern ur-Bronco it will likely be what breaks me. If they are just ****teasing us again, then in the words of Pedro Cerrano, “**** you [Ford].” We are done forever.

But, I know people that have bought brand new ones and love it. ITs just not for me.

Let you in on a secret (and this is true of just about any car company): the social media presence is not manned by the people who make product decisions. Basically, you bitched to the people who have no say in the matter.
