It’s all about optics. Framing and first impressions. Today “it’s her fault”. Tomorrow, “it couldn’t have been avoided”. By Friday, “maybe it could have been avoided but it’s old news and who cares anyway because robot cars are super-safe”.

The main wing was NOT as good as concorde. That’s why they added the Canards. The TU-144 wing was only good at supersonic flight. It performed poorly at landing speed.
