Same. I didn’t want an SUV/truck because I didn’t want to deal with the size and added fuel expenses, and I didn’t want to stick with a sedan because it was just too unpractical and I’d worry every time I’d go on any non-asphalt road. The Outback was the logical choice because it just does everything I need it to very

To my knowledge, Subaru added a trannie cooler at the end of the 2017 Outback MY. As far as I know, all the CVT’s on the Outbacks have them, but only on the Outback model.

Stupid question (and it’s very stupid) but is the biggest advantage of aluminum skid plates vs. plastic about durability? In my mind plastic can flex more and can absorb impact better. Or is it steel? Maybe all 3 are wrong...

Good review - a few notes of my own to add.

Honestly, it’s every site, whether it’s news, blogs, magazines; any digital publication will, more or less be flooded with ads. I actively avoid certain sites (which I used to frequent quite often for news and info) just because their ads are so fucking annoying.

4th Gear: this better not become the trend. Enough shit out there is gunning for my wallet with “extra features” that should’ve been standard features from the get-go. I know it’s brilliant business planning, but it’s also a fucking annoying and predatorial tactic.

Came here for this, left satisfied.

Your comment reminded me of how much I miss the Altima SE-R. It was no rocket, but a slightly-tuned V6 with dual high-flow exhausts, Brembo brakes, sport suspension and a manual trans made what was a pretty flaccid family sedan into a fun daily driver. It’s a sad reminder of what Nissan used to be :(

It’s also worth noting that Nissan was kind of a pioneer of CVTs, yet, somehow... make the worst one out of everyone else...

I kind of hated the Juke at first, but after a friend of mine bought one, it kind of grew on me. It was quirky and at least looked different than most other vehicles on the road. The Kicks just sucked the whole essence out of the Juke and became just another boring-ass crossover.

Nissan can quite frankly fuck off. Majority of their lineup is a giant pile of generic, uninspired garbage that blends into every single parking lot, not to mention a long line of life-less, fun-less powertrains that solely inspire people who generally hate cars, or hate driving.

I like the styling and the interior, even with all those screens (seems kinda futuristic, which is something personally dig). That being said, it suffers from every “entry-level” EV on the market today, because there’s nothing entry-level about the price. I’d gladly take a hit on the fit and finish if it meant a lower

This made my day, thank you.

I see your point; and I totally agree, I think a more aggressive strategy is needed to get things moving, because this right now isn’t working.

See, that would make perfect sense, and to be honest when I first heard about that stupid tax I thought this would be the case. Instead Trudeau sat around and did absolutely nothing, actually put us even more on the petrol titty. And that’s the biggest kicker... we have this tax, but it’s not used for anything; not

Fascinating! I’ll look more into that!

I think we will figure it out someday; and you’re right, the same was said when the internal combustion engined motor car first came out.

That’s not the point. It’s about affordability for all, which is what governments and automakers are constantly telling people, that by 20xx we’ll all be driving in EVs. That is the problem, because it is not realistic.

As a hardcore car person, I can get behind this. And in some cities, it’s already working. Problem right now for a LOT of North American cities is that the infrastructure (bike lanes, pedestrian access points) is lacking; so it doesn’t exactly encourage people to get out of their cars. That being said, it would be a

Affordability and transition. Most people can’t even afford your average Leaf, let alone a Tesla, and don’t feel like it’s worth taking the risk. For what they even offer now, it’s not worth it.
