This. You pretty much summed it up. There is SO MUCH good auto journalistic content out there that if you really want to charge people for it, you better make sure that you’ve got something that will seriously stun your readers; and a lot of the known auto journo print staples haven’t.

Really sad to see another one bite to dust. The funny thing is, print isn’t totally dead. Many people still like print; in theory. It’s just the shitty business and operation plan that virtually every print publication has used in the last five years that has, unsurprisingly, bitten them hard in the ass.

I was literally just thinking, “wow, I see Alanis, Kristen and Stef in just about everything automotive these days, that’s cool.” And saw this article. I thought that because it’s nice to see women get a bite at the auto-journalism pie (not an fair share of the pie unfortunately, at least, not yet anyway).

I thought of that too; it’s definitely an option. And no, definitely not ever doing a lease. I don’t know how the hell people go through this shit every 5 years just to get a shiny new vehicle...

It’s kind of what I was thinking. In Victoria (British Columbia) Outbacks of all model years go for way more here than what they’re worth; mine is a fully-loaded model, so shouldn’t be too hard selling it for at least 20K down the road.

Because I really wanted the Outback and the only way to get it was through a lease; classic mistake, I know. Financing was wayyy too expensive.

This article resonates loudly for me. In 2018, I chained myself to a new car (2018 Outback) in a lease for four years (I’ve got just over 2 years left). Key word: lease. I pay $378/month, which isn’t the worst, but it fucking hurts regardless.

Speaking of flies, that must be a giant bitch to clean all those bug guts out of... fucking stupid design.

Pay $580 for just a Porsche sound? Pffft, fuck that. If I’m still paying that much for fucking noise, then why not give me some sexy options?

Neutral: I think both, because our economy has a primally-rooted and symbiotic relationship with the planet. As climate change ravages more usable land and more of the environment, commerce, our food supply, it will all be disrupted in ways that will cause the economy to slip out of control, along with the rest of

Funny enough, I read something about this the other day; just how Russia is creeping around the Arctic with increased interest. They know, as well as we do, that there are raw resources there just waiting to be extracted and shipping routes to be exploited once the ice will disappear.

I shit you not, I thought for a second this was the Mercedes. Then I noticed the kidney grille and was like, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yes it was! And they did lol. James had the Caddie CTS-V, Hammond the Challenger, and Jezza the Corvette ZR-1.

With the Challenger! That was a good episode...

The 2.4 is going in the Outback (XT trim) so technically it’s going in a wagon :D

From what I’ve read and heard, they adapted the same CVT that the 3.6R used (with the flat-six) which was a heavier duty version of the standard CVT. Thing is, the 2.4 turbo has a lot more torque and horsepower than the 3.6, so I sure hope they didn’t just slap it on and hope for the best...

Not crude at all, I totally agree. Why do I need to focus all the way down on some fucking screen to change the temperature in my car. That’s so fucking stupid. Fuck this trend.

Thanks for the review! Ever since Subaru touted the release of the new Outback/Legacy, many thoughts have been stirring in my head.

Is it coming to Canada? Cause if it’s not, this is the biggest tease of the week.

Yay for perspective! Indeed, times were much, much darker...
