The thing that’s actually so annoying about this is that the press literally was mad and had a daily counter about the fact Clinton hadn’t had a press conference but completely doesn’t do their job on this subject.

It is unacceptable for any candidate to conceal their financial situation. To be a candidate, a person must disclose their tax returns.

Similar thing to the other side. No one’s going to demand Hillary release her speech transcripts because they’ve already decided they’re voting for Hillary even if she’s secretly sacrificing infants every night.

Was there a specific impetus for candidates to release their returns? FDR did, so did Truman, but then it wasn’t until Nixon that it became standard procedure.
