Since I rolled my ankle doing something stupid, I'll be stuck inside most of the weekend (which means games!). I've started a bunch of stuff recently, but haven't really gotten hooked into anything. Asura's Wrath, Remember Me, Super Meat Boy, and Rusty's Real Deal Baseball are all in the mix, so we'll see what I

The storyline in FC3 is easily one of the worst in a major release ever, and only gets worse the longer you play it. It's a weird game, with the sharp contrast between the quality of gameplay (which is fantastic) and the story (which is horrendous, misogynistic, xenophobic, and possibly an abomination unto humanity).

The DLC for SR3 is kinda bland. The coolest one is probably "Weird Science," but it's all kinda just a reminder of the greatness of the main game.

I doubt a multi-billion dollar corporation "hates" any other corporation. It's more a symptom of past risks turning out poorly on the Nintendo platforms that's motivating Ubisoft's cautious behavior. If the Wii U install numbers begin to rise, I'm sure Ubisoft will return to the platform.

French accents are pretty intuitive, since so much of English has direct roots in French (yay, Norman Conquest). German is just all over the place…

My theory is just that the team didn't want to optimize for a fourth distinct platform. From my understanding, the PS3 and Xbox 360 have their own optimization challenges, and the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, though similar in architecture, still present some coding and other design quirks. Ubisoft Montpelier may have

It's clear that Ubisoft has something special on its hands with this engine. I hope they license it out to some smaller indie devs, so that we can see other creative uses of the engine in the near future.

It seems to celebrate the 8 bit/16 bit retro game without miring itself in the mechanics of those games that just don't hold up in this modern age.

Ah, I see what you're missing. As I remember it, in Radiant Dawn, Intelligent Systems eliminated a Wyvern Rider's weakness to bows (it just did normal damage), which is the only entry in the series to do so. Therefore, Haar only had his resistance issues, which were easily negated by giving him Pure Waters.

Eh, I've always had a soft spot for the Wyvern Lords, who get insane strength, skill, and defense stats towards their level caps. This is especially true in Radiant Dawn, where Haar is essentially a god (I've played the game through three times, and Haar has been my MVP every time).

And the music remixes and the Mind Over Murder Christmas Edition events. I also really liked the whole conceit of The Boss as a scrooge, even better when it's Nolan North having no idea what a "Grinch" is.

Ahh, Path of Radiance, my favorite entry in the entire Fire Emblem series. The cast may be large, but it's got nothing on Radiant Dawn (which expands to about 70 characters I think).

Saints Row the Third is amazing. From beginning to end, that game never lets off of the insanity pedal.

Oh don't worry, I don't actually get that much time to play games. I work about 50 hours a week, but with the increase in disposable income, I tend to stockpile games a lot more now than when I had tons of time to play.

So far: Gone Home, Papers Please, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Europa Universalis IV, Bastion, Banner Saga, Witcher, Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, The Walking Dead Season One, and Super Meat Boy. All for $55.45, which is pretty nuts.

Ghost Trick! Missile!!!

I had never heard of Shovel Knight until Tuesday. By Thursday, I have watched at least an hour of gameplay and want that game more than any other thus far this year.

Since the Saints Row IV season pass was on sale a bit ago, I picked up and played the two pieces of DLC, Enter the Dominatrix and How the Saints Saved Christmas. Both are pretty entertaining little two hours pieces of Saints Row goodness, but definitely continue the weird trend in Volition DLC where none of it feels

That's probably the worst subtext of the entire series, especially when "Adam and Eve" in ACII's secret video are totally white. It's the usual, tone-deaf dreck you expect from video games, though.
