Whoever posted spoilers for The Killing saved everybody a bunch of really, really shitty hours of TV and should be hailed as a hero.

It’s a classic plot structure for a reason, it freakin’ works. It’s silly to expect every show to reinvent the wheel with every plotline and episode. Yeah, it’s an A-Team plot in the Star Wars universe, but that's freakin’ awesome.
I never knew I needed to see Klansmen beaten to hell and gone set to Ink Spots songs, but here we are.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
I don’t know how many here are from small towns, towns small enough to know “everyone” but the obsession with appearances is paramount and it can be stifling, oppressive and toxic- at church, in town, works .....facade is everything. (think Blue Velvet, the shots of picture perfect homes but Lynch takes the camera…
Looking forward to reading your review!
In the pilot, Rebecca went to a strip club to talk to a stripper named Destiny about how she definitely didn’t move to West Covina because of Josh.
Oh, I feel badly for him, too. But it’s an incredibly selfish thing, to prioritize your emotional needs over the needs of someone who tried to take their own life. And if it was just once, that’s one thing, but it’s not. He was told by four people to stay away.
That’s from DBT. It was developed by a psychologist who used to have BPD, herself.
I know this show is a wacky musical and all, but one of the things I love most about it is that it portrays mental health issues in such a responsible way. So much thought and care goes into the writing of this show and it’s beautiful.
I’m a psychologist who specializes in treating BPD, and this is one of the best fictional portrayals of the disorder that I’ve ever seen. The language used to describe the diagnosis was even in line with DBT, one of the most effective treatments for the disorder. Really impressed!
Your write-up is excellent. I appreciate it very much.
Yep, “All I want to do is fall asleep forever” is a pretty frequent guest ‘round these parts. Hope you’re doing well and that you’ve got all the support you need (and a few great coping mechanisms to boot.)
I’m a sufferer too. Absolutely nailed depression in that episode. I can remember many times where I was so depressed that I would just lay in bed and wish, pray that I’d fall asleep and never wake up. It is a state of being I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
That’s my story, too. Hope you’re doing well. Stories like this one always remind me how important it is to reach out to friends who struggle, and to reach out when myself I need it. So hard to watch, but such an important story to tell. Thanks for commenting.
I struggle with depression and anxiety myself, have done so for the most part of my life. This was so hard to watch. Very well-done, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. It hit so close to home.
I think you really have to look at who’s judging him. White Josh is consistently a judgmental asshole. Everyone else there is a moron. It’s a group that’s fairly vulnerable to slander.
Right before watching this episode I told someone is nice to see someone on tv that was like me. I understand her destructive patterns and mental health issues. It was thanks to this shows initial season airing and a small mental breakdown that I finally got diagnosed with Bipolar II. A lot of this show reads like a…
You're a bad person.
Laura's last-minute panic about maybe getting rid of Shamar (while a sign of strategic thinking) was silly when you think about it. Which is probably why she (and Julia) didn't end up going through with it.
