Yeah, places with mild winters (and, let’s be honest, mild summers) in the US generally don’t have bike lanes. I grew up in Houston. Mild winters. Hellish summers, everything is far apart and no bike lanes.

People who participate in triathlons are the worst. I was doing some lap swimming and a group of triathletes came along and tried to hog the lane and lap everyone in a really disrespectful and unsafe manner. So I started doing laps of butterfly.
