No offense intended to the Timmverse, MCU or Fox's X-Men, but Doctor Who is probably the closest film/TV equivalent we have to how following a long-running comic book series feels. I love it for that.

26 seasons of the original series, a TV movie, 10+ seasons of the revival and several hundred Big Finish audio plays.

Sadly, it's no rumor. The AV Club as we've known and loved it will cease to exist by summer's end. This bit of unfortunate news is buried at the bottom of the linked article.

Somewhere in England, Joss Whedon calls "Cut" on the set of Justice League as a chill runs up his spine.

Just saw that a Kinja-pocalypse is apparently about to hit The AV Club. Please God, let that not be the case.

Holy sith!

I got my dad into Gilmore Girls by describing it as "Ed with vaginas".

And Northern Exposure too, apparently.

Well, what else is he going to do? His last lawyer put a gun in his mouth when he saw Trump was planning to live tweet the whole d—- thing.

Buffy debuted in March, which is when broadcast networks usually debut their mid-season replacements. Late May to August is a broadcast network dead zone ratings wise unless it's a reality series, a game show or the first five episodes of The O.C.

Hey, now. Let's not forget all of the incredible success that broadcast networks have had over the years debuting scripted series in the summer instead of the fall or spring when they normally do:

My sister's friend just introduced me to Grimes. At first I really wasn't into it (she reminded me of Miley Cyrus, whom I detest in all of her various incarnations), but then I hit the demo version of REALiTi, Vanessa, Go and Oblivion. Something just clicked. Holy sh—, am I obsessed now. Even her stuff that I wasn't

The only way I can fudge Bill's logic into kind of making sense from her perspective is this:

I kind of feel bad for Chibnall. He's taking over arguably the most consistently well-received revival in film and TV history (and tied with the Original Series cast Star Trek films series as the longest running revival). That's a lot to live up to.

Don't forget the vastly underrated Dr. Liz Shaw.

The showrunners and HBO are taking the Sopranos, Sex and the City, Battlestar Galactica approach. Making the final season two separate mini-seasons means you get two big premieres and two big finales for massive ratings instead of just the one.

So, it'll be like the final season of Highlander. Just with, you know, a budget.

I think the coffee did bring him back. He spat it out (either due to it being too hot or due to it being not a damn fine cup of coffee) and gave a very enthusiastic Coop-like "Hi!".

I think the coffee at the end of Part 4 brought Coop back to us. Greatest use of fan service ever.

Unfortunately it's Ivanka. She's like Faith, minus the redemptive arc.
