So I think I’ve nailed down why this show isn’t working. Its the lack of a strong authority figure whos actually in charge. You got death of Stalin, In the Loop, and Veep, all have this character. I do not understand Judd from scene to scene. He goes from self involved egomaniac doofus to borderline sociopath to sad sack neurotic. I get Matt. He puts on a facade of cheerfulness but is not so secretly loving the chaos. 

This show still isn’t amazing but revealing the main character to be bi with little fanfare did make me smile.
