Two things need to be addressed before EVs will begin seriously displacing IC cars. First, range needs to be addressed, particularly at an acceptable pricepoint. Tesla has obviously made strides in this, and things like the Leaf and Bolt continue to improve, but until that range and price hit the right levels, it will

Better times

The heart wants NP, but 5 owners and 155k on an early 90s German sedan? The head sez CP all day long. Flip the first two digits in the asking price, and you’re closer to the acceptable range.

Maybe the Alabama reference in the headline put me in a redneck mood, but that profile reminds me waaaaay too much of a circa 2012 Camaro.

Honda getting back to its engineering roots, definitely a good idea. One thing I’d be interested in knowing. Back in the mid-80s to early 90s when the Civic, CRX, Accord, and Prelude were all amazingly affordable pinnacles of engineering excellence, I’d love to know what the actual production costs vs selling price in

Ok, because Jalopnik posted this on FP, how many Jalops came here thinking it was our OPPO who was magically quick-charging smartphones?

Nooo! Don’t be 12! That makes me extra creepy, lol!

Yeah, my bad. I meant to convey that after trying the key sequence to no effect, I resorted to popping the battery out which solved the problem. So it goes.

Warren Mosler’s Consulier series. Considering they were (at least originally) using a hyper ‘roided Chrysler 2.2, the thing was pretty quick for the late 80s (approaching sub 5 second 0-60), but it could out handle and out break practically everything. It’s biggest sin, besides having the quality of a kit car, was it

Maybe I wasn’t timing the buttons correctly. In any respect, I never said it was a battery fail. I like the removable battery because it allows me to unfreeze and reboot my phone without wiping the data by simply popping the battery in and out.

Too late for today, but this deserves a #COTD nod.

Arguably you could say that the mid to late ‘aughts could be construed as malaise. Post ‘05 GM was generally horrible (Malibu, Hummer, Grand Prix, G6, STS, Aveo, etc.), Cerebus era Chrysler (PT, Sebring, Compass, etc.), Ford (the Expedition and Navigator were super long-in-tooth, the USDM Focus was shit, the

Cool. I’ll have to take a look. For now, it isn’t critical. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah, I Googled that and found it. Unfortunately all links said to power off the phone and then hit the key sequence. Because mine was frozen on the Verizon splash screen, the keys weren’t bringing up the options screen for either a normal (cache) reset or a factory reset, and I couldn’t power the phone off. Battery

Now playing

As soon as I saw the word “taillights” I knew it would be a Torch special. Not sure I want to know hwat rabbit hole you were tumbling down when you came across that gem, but yes it is insane. I do love me some sequential taillights, tho, and I am continually grateful to Ford for bringing those back to the Mustang. And

The other thing about a removable battery is when you inevitably get it frozen on the carrier splash screen (thanks, Verizon), instead of having to consider a “factory reset” which wipes everything, just pop the battery out and reboot.

Agreed.

Umm, no. Way too Infiniti.

Not sure if I have all of the details straight, but let me see. Terrorist commits terror, has a work phone from his employer. Terrorist is killed and FBI wants to see if there is useful info on the phone. Owner of phone (employer) has agreed to allow access to phone, but nobody has the password. FBI (here’s where I

This absolutely has to happen!
