The heart wants NP, but 5 owners and 155k on an early 90s German sedan? The head sez CP all day long. Flip the first two digits in the asking price, and you’re closer to the acceptable range.

Maybe the Alabama reference in the headline put me in a redneck mood, but that profile reminds me waaaaay too much of a circa 2012 Camaro.
Honda getting back to its engineering roots, definitely a good idea. One thing I’d be interested in knowing. Back in the mid-80s to early 90s when the Civic, CRX, Accord, and Prelude were all amazingly affordable pinnacles of engineering excellence, I’d love to know what the actual production costs vs selling price in…
Nooo! Don’t be 12! That makes me extra creepy, lol!
Warren Mosler’s Consulier series. Considering they were (at least originally) using a hyper ‘roided Chrysler 2.2, the thing was pretty quick for the late 80s (approaching sub 5 second 0-60), but it could out handle and out break practically everything. It’s biggest sin, besides having the quality of a kit car, was it…
Too late for today, but this deserves a #COTD nod.
Arguably you could say that the mid to late ‘aughts could be construed as malaise. Post ‘05 GM was generally horrible (Malibu, Hummer, Grand Prix, G6, STS, Aveo, etc.), Cerebus era Chrysler (PT, Sebring, Compass, etc.), Ford (the Expedition and Navigator were super long-in-tooth, the USDM Focus was shit, the…
As soon as I saw the word “taillights” I knew it would be a Torch special. Not sure I want to know hwat rabbit hole you were tumbling down when you came across that gem, but yes it is insane. I do love me some sequential taillights, tho, and I am continually grateful to Ford for bringing those back to the Mustang. And…
Agreed.
This absolutely has to happen!
Possible heresy, but I think I like these better than the SVX. Yeah, more power and all that, but I loooove the XT’s wedge look. Even with the potential clutch maintenance, you’d have to do at least as much work to drop a 5m into an SVX. NP all day.
Currently living in northern Alberta (impressed with the dropping of Nunavut, BTW), and I can confirm that Hakkapeliittas are the Carmax warranty of winter tires. All the cool kids up here run them, but they are pricey as hell. Enjoy. As always, will be following on Twitter.
Please, someone release a video clip with the exhaust. NO MUSICAL OVERDUBS!
It’s like you’re in my head or something!!
My fave track to come out of Miami Vice. Awesome performance!
I love these cars, and the 80s Germanic sensibility and capability they represent. That being said, that mileage and those issues, I wouldn’t go over $2500. A reluctant CP.
Likely buried in the pending replies, but I’ll ask the obvious question. How in the hell was this not in Florida?
Holy shit! I had one exactly like this (well...) in the early 90s when I was at UC Santa Barbara. Same green paint (with lots of imperfections), same green interior (with seat rips), same 5 speed, but mine was pushing 200k when I had it. Had some rust on the hatch, but did have a sunroof. Great college kid car. I…
It does if you get the DeMuro special unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty.
