Doves
Maybe just because Last Broadcast was my go-to album for when I was a collegiate stoner, but just about all their stuff really chills me out.

Ole Coltrane doesn't get enough love. But yeah, agreed.

I always get sad at the train and dog barking at the end of the album. But totally, all Beach Boys is comfort food for me. Even (and maybe especially) Kokomo.

Though I can't help but feel at least a twinge of embarrassment re my former uber-fandom, whenever I hear the opening three guitar chords of Ana Ng it all comes washing back over me.

I JUST REALIZED THAT THE WEEKENDERS IS ABOUT NIC CAGE'S CHARACTER IN NEXT!

@you don't cut a doll's hair,
My bong when I was in college was named after the Judy doll. And I'll be surprised if I don't get shit for volunteering that information.

Good Sports Tunes
There are a couple good team specific songs out there. I'll submit The Hold Steady's Twins-themed rendition of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" as one example:

As I've grown older and much more jaded, I find it amazing (and awesome) that Bugs, Daffy, Pepe Le Pew, Foghorn Leghorn and the rest can still make me laugh out loud when very little else can even elicit an audible chuckle.

1982. Professional Athletes that are younger than me make me feel old. (Gymnasts don't count). The day Jeter retires is the day I hand in my (already quite worn) youth card.

Dana Plato
Am I the only one that was immediately reminded of that scene in Night Trap when watching that second clip?

I've given it up for Lent. Wish me luck.

Ugh. I too am a paralegal that lives in Brooklyn and has many viddy-g related memories.

I dunno - I have buddies who love the Sounders. But these are people who also get really excited whenever the 5 Dollar Footlong commercials come on so I don't know what to beli.
