Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not (it’s the AV Club, so, likely) but I really dug the most recent season. It was so off the rails bonkers that at around the point where they were wearing clothing made of garbage, I gave myself over to it and had a great time. Also, the outlier episode with Chantal was probably my

Uncle Martin. RIP. I’m sure his nephew Clifford is still will be sending his letters of apology to heaven now.

I know that it’s the cool thing to do these days but I really didn’t dig the new hand-held camera style the show is using. After many seasons of Seinfeld and Curb using classic stationary cameras, this felt jarring. I just want my old Larry back!

Honest question:
I've been reading the AVClub for just close to 20 years now and It's been though a few major format changes before. Why is this one being hailed as something so different and terrible?

I can't wait for The Flop House to do this movie. Heigl is the Kinski to The Peaches' Herzog.

"The Further I Slide" always getting my booty shakin'.

I'll never understand why Doves wasn't more popular. Too British, maybe? Last Broadcast is such a great mood setter. One of the few albums that I can listen to front to back without wanting to skip tracks. I'll throw my support behind Some Cities as well.

Black Rivers, the Williams' band, put out an album last year which, if you're into Doves, is certainly worth checking out. Doesn't reach the peaks of Doves best but scratches the itch, at least for me.

Anyone know where i can track down the TV on the Radio cover of Dead? I heard it years ago and have been trying to track it down ever since.

Between Sanders and Sopranos, this song has proved to be quite a favorite of HBO's; "Ride the painted pony, let the spinning wheel glide" Damn straight, Paulie.

Here's a vote in the plus column for that one.  Granted, I've always been a big Martin Short fan (Clifford!!) but I think the old-timey workout scenes alone make this episode a keeper.

Paul O'neill!
Paul O'neill!

The dream Ticket!!!!!
Jesse Ventura and Victor Newman would really have been an exceptional ruling duo.

I disagree about the score. There's a 'money shot' type sequence near the end of the movie that's just shots of the cave paintings for about 10 minutes with no narration and only music. The music was especially effective here, as it was throughout the rest of the film .

@Grenade, While i don't disagree that at its best, Louie can be a great show, I think we need to give it some more time to marinate, i.e. see how good it is in 5 - 10 years before we can place it among such ratified company.

as far as stand-up is concerned,
Rock > C.K. > Seinfeld > Gervais.

Willy-Nilly.
Could that "bandied about" part be a reference to the UK office? If so, well done.

British Sit-Com nerd time:
The first name that Sophie gives to Damien, Peter Gibbons, is the name that future Spaced cameo David Brent references as a former employee of Wernham Hogg. And it's the name of the protag of Office Space.
