I need to make my way through all those Zatoichi flicks before this happens.

Judge: For the benefit of the court, could you please explain 'time code.'

I watched this when Netflix had it streaming - sometime within the past two years. A pretty cool story. Around the same time, I watched a documentary on Big Star, and there were some interesting parallels in the stories of the two bands.

My introduction to Circle Jerks was Golden Shower of Hits, and that one is still probably my favorite. But there's a loveable scuzziness to all their stuff. I still have my Group Sex/Wild in the Streets combo CD, and yeah, it barely passes teh 41-minute mark.

In between various readings for my master's program, I'm finally getting around to reading Kafka's The Trial. I've read his short story work, but not any of the longer works.

Yeah, I was naive. I guess I hadn't thought to much about 80's-era Cold War before, but thinking back, it's just so odd that it seemed to be ingrained in everything. I was born a year after you.

We had duck & cover drills all the time - but growing up in Southern California, it was always under the guise of earthquake preparedness. I remember when I was in 3rd grade my dad (my DAD) tells me that the real reason the duck & cover drill started was in case of a nuclear bomb.

So, I spent the rest of the 3rd grade

Oh man, I need to check out King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard's output. Never heard of them before, but they sound great.

It's Margaret's Show!

Joe Walsh saves the day again!

I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info!

No - and I kind of feel the same way. But I specifically just really want to watch the "Hawk & Chick" episode.

When will they get Season 5 of Bob's Burgers?

Anyone know the name of the song that kicks in at around 1:30? This movie just looks swell. I'm fully on board with this.

I need to watch it again. I do enjoy Macbeth the play.

That makes sense - though he'd have been excellent in the Takashi Shimura roles under Kurosawa. And I agree with you on Red Beard - it's such an excellent movie - as are most of the Mifune/Kurosawa collaborations (I admittedly haven't seen them all, but I need to rectify that - especially because I think most of the

I haven't seen the Polanski version since high school - 20 years ago. I don't remember much, but doesn't it end with a POV shot of Macbeth's decapitated head? Or am I mis-remembering it?

Well, apparently having that beard kept him from getting other work. So, I could understand being miffed for having to go that long without a paycheck.

No, it was the one with the sad-sack dad that gets the magic tv remote. Towards the beginning he drops something down the disposal and gets his hand stuck trying to get it out, and his punk son reaches for the switch to turn it on, laughing maniacally as the dad pulls his hand out at the last minute.

And now, after
