While the really good episodes were stronger than ever, Season 3 had some terrible pacing issues. More so than Season 1.

I don't know exactly what she meant, but a lot of professional actors tend to put up an emotional wall between themselves and those they work with. Really out of necessity.
Fantastic interview. She sounds like an incredibly grounded individual. And yeah, while a lot of celebs are all "I'm such a fan of Star Trek", Virginia is clearly a full-on Trekkie. It's amazing and endearing.
