I don't think Emily is a sociopath, really. Damaged beyond repair, yes, but not a sociopath

So the new status quo is established and I love it.

For me, it's Black Books, which is pretty much the best sitcom ever made. She's frequently outshined by Moran and Bailey there (no wonder, those two would outshine anyone anywhere), but seeing her here reminded me that she's pretty awesome on her own.

The aliens - especially in the first part - somehow reminded me of Twin Peaks, actually. Like a Black Lodge if Bob and the dwarf both kept farting to heighten the surreality.

I'd point to Emily on Pretty Little Liars as an example of a gay main character done right.

I'd say she is pretty consistently dumb, but maybe I'll be surprised.

She didn't even pick up when Jack made an "oh shit, the cover is blown" face immediately after she told him of the incident in the hospital. Goddammit, Charlotte.

I really liked this episode, even though it did somewhat demonstrate how overstuffed the show is becoming. Adding a new player (the doctor woman) to the mix might be just one shift too many, but I'm looking forward to the next episode to prove me wrong. The promo seems promising.

Yes, Tool are very inspired by King Crimson. No, they are NOT ripping King Crimson off. There is no reason why adolescents and frat boys couldn't get King Crimson either. You are not special for listening to King Crimson.

Related question: Am I a bad person when I just never answer to that and then hope the other side does not press the issue?

Somehow I didn't know that existed.

I still think their lyrics are pretty brilliant, especially on Lateralus. I can see how a lot of people would disagree though.

Fuck, I could have used a Tool t-shirt by way of coming out. What a missed opportunity.

More like King Crimson of the 90s.

I don't think they take their music as a joke, but can make fun of it.

A.

Yeah, those are not semantics at all. Hannah Horvath isn't likeable, but I can and mostly do empathize with her. Liam, not so much. This episode does not rely on the viewers empathizing with him though - there's still Ffion and even Jonas.

A-. This episode ended up less making a point about technology and more of a point about Liam is a fucking asshole.

B+. I didn't like some of the storytelling choices (the moustache-twirling judges, that disgusting guy on a bike next to Bing, the fact that Abi's story ended up being framed as something that was essentially about him and not her, Bing's speech being about as anvilicious as it possibly could have been), but there was
