D'Hoffryn would recruit Betty in a HEARTBEAT.
I've spent most of this season wondering if the Discourse I was reading was ridiculously overreacting (it was), or if Mon-El was actually problematic. This article confirms he is, in fact, a problem. The review and comments spell it out perfectly - the show is meant to be about Supergirl, and her found family - not…
I like where your mind's at.
Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed the hell out of the movie. Not everything needs to be serious cinema. I went into it thinking it might be pleasantly nostalgic, but honestly, I kind of loved it. Rita was everything.
I feel like this would be a good place to point out that the WBC (you know, haters of gays, funeral protesters, all around dregs of humanity) have a metric fuck ton of pop songs rewritten to represent their world view. One of the unintentionally funniest things I've ever seen. 10/10 recommend.
I love everything about Betty (including the obvious mental breakdown that is coming). Lili is doing a PHENOMENAL job. She is perfectly cast for this role.
Yeah, I could definitely see down the line, Jughead realizing he's ace. While he and Betty do have chemistry, I would love to see an ace storyline on tv. And I actually trust the actor to really do it justice, given that he's spoken pretty eloquently on it in the past. (also, hey fellow ace person!)
In hindsight, I actually gave up around then. I didn't hate it, but unlike prior albums, I can't even name all the songs on it - let alone remember all the lyrics. Zombies on Broadway is borderline offensive to me though.
Gotta add my 2 cents: Florence and the Machine, Metric, Gary Clark Jr. And I'm now looking up the suggestions I don't recognize, because what I know of these lists I love.
Oliviatremor, I would recommend giving I See You a listen. Nowhere near as good as XX, but waaaay better than Coexist. I loathe that album. XX was a near perfect album, and Coexist was just…not. I See You isn't as strong, but has some sold 2-3 track sections that really tell a story.
I feel guilty even typing this, but Zombies on Broadway is just so disappointing. I've been an Andrew fan since the Something Corporate Days, and for me, Jack's Mannequin was the best iteration. Everything in Transit holds up as a glorious album all the way through. And while he obviously wanted that pop sound (and…
And toward later seasons, not so subtle. I think he maybe did…one commentary on the first season. That's one of my favorite parts about the commentary for that show - the disdain and loathing for him is so apparent.
This is my issue with streaming services overall - the lack of "bonus" material, including commentary tracks. For movies, I typically only watch w/ commentary for the movies I love and watch over and over again. For TV, however, I've enjoyed commentary on far more occasions.
