*Buys a $110k SUV*

If the worry is the environmental impact, stunts like the Bugatti don’t even factor. For every Bugatti going 250mph, there are 1,000+ BMWs going 130. In the aggregate, the BMWs are going to be far worse for the environment.

Considering the broken cycle that the EPA uses for testing, I’ll take that with a grain of salt. Especially when they are the ones rating CUVs as being as efficient or better than the sedans they are based on (quickest offhand example is a CX30 matches the Mazda3 numbers with 1mpg better in city cycle).

I believe it. It’s funny, because in the Ram community the consensus seems to be “I thought I would hate it, but now I get it”. Market research generally just confirms that people resist change, but sometimes you have to force it.

Fun fact, the engineers at Ford WANTED TO remove that huge console shifter. In fact, in the Super Duty trucks, it is a column shifter. However, marketing found that F150 buyers vastly preferred having that massive console shifter, so engineering got told no.

Eww, world sucks because of your poor tastes.

Please, please, please give me one way. ANY legitimate way that the CX30 is better than the 3. You have forever to tell me how the X3 or the Q3 is ANY better than the sedan/wagon platforms they’re based on. They are not only ugly and suffer from worse handling, but their popularity has killed off wagons in America.

I was actually just thinking the other day that I feel like I’m seeing more non-grayscale cars on the road.  The Bronco and Sport intros have done a lot on that front since most seem to be in fun colors.

Man I must be a curmudgeon, the only one I disagreed with was the black option packages. I just hate chrome.

Dream spec Aston

We need more baby blues, light blue on black is just gorgeous

I’m really not a race fan, but to be honest something like this or just straight up rally racing has some of the most bonkers and IMO probably best drivers in motorsports. Being able to keep those cars in control at that speed on that type of surface is nothing short of astonishing. F1 is up there as well just because

No. They fucking can’t. Read the Dakar rule book. Ryan King isn’t familiar with Dakar so this blog doesn’t represent the actual conditions. It’s heavy rule based competition. So the vehicles are very very heavily restricted. Including the engine size and power. Electric power needs to be limited comparable to the ICE

‘Level of performance’ isn’t really the issue - the Audi isn’t faster because they’ve done a better job, it’s faster because it’s not governed by the same rules that govern everybody else. In order to lure in Audi and its “pure electric” car (which is still powered by an ICE “generator”, with a larger fuel tank

Factory restoration programs for classics are different from a Factory refresh program.

So, nothing new at GM.

Rust killed mine.

Both of the Toyotas I’ve owned have lasted beyond 10 years without any “refurbishment”.

Porsche does not want self-driving features? I find this to be a wise stance. If you want to get driven to work while snuggled in a blanket, nursing a hangover in the back seat, you probably won’t do it in a Porsche.”

Sounds like the thought process of someone who thinks that Porsche owners wouldn’t want an SUV.
