I didn't see your post until after I had posted but I agree 100%

I just posted about "Where Have You Been" before I saw your post. I agree that should have absolutely made the list for Beanie's verse alone.

Only one rap song on the list and it's Shaq? First thing that came to mind was Jay-Z's "Where Have You Been", the final track on Roc La Familia. The hurt in Beanie Sigel's verse always sticks with me.

If you think the rest of Late Registration is a bunch of shit, you clearly didn't listen long enough to make it to Gone

It's all good, that wasn't really specified in the article.

Nah, the Ocean version was from his free mixtape Nostalgia/Ultra. Neither his nor Okkervil River's version were even on albums that were sold commercially. It's like bitching because someone covered your song at their concert or made a youtube cover.

Bob Loblaw would be cool but Barry Zuckerkorn would be much more interesting.

Agreed. I like Seth Rogen but he also recently called out Justin Bieber. When it comes to calling out famous people, Congress, Nancy Grace, and Justin Bieber are about as easy targets as possible.

Mother of God… How is this real? How had I not seen this before?

I second "The Strategy"

Yeah I've been reading great things elsewhere as well. Definitely looking forward to checking it out.

Podcasts in general, but especially ones that I enjoy. I know Podcasts get a lot of play on here but I feel like I don't personally know a ton of people that listen to them a lot (or maybe it's just that they don't talk about it). So when I'm in a conversation and a mention or joke from Comedy Bang Bang comes up it

If you were to say that ALL of today's rap was like that I would say that you are one of "those" people. I dont think that's what you're getting at though because there's obviously a bunch of crap out there too.

I'm in the same boat. I think when I was younger I definitely felt the need to be ahead of the curve or above whatever is popular or some shit. Now I realize that a lot of the Top 40 stuff (though not all) is popular for a reason. A lot of those songs are catchy and fun to listen to. My taste in music hasn't

I'll throw in DMX - "Damien" and "The Omen"

Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place
Outkast - Humble Mumble
Kanye West - Oh Sight
James Taylor - Steamroller
Schoolboy Q - Hell of a Night

I must say, that would be a pretty outstanding show. I'd swap Wavves for Outkast though because no festival this year is complete without Outkast.

"My name is Eli Whitney and I invented the Cotton Gin!!"

Absolutely true. Just still bitter from the lack of My Name is My Name coverage last year.

Well since the Oxymoron review was in Feb and this is in March I'll maintain that AV Club is still neglecting rap.
