It seems like most people missed the point of Dave’s joke. Like most of the stuff he says, there’s an underlying message/commentary that’s easily missed. In this particular instance, he said two things:

But he didn’t equate Rachel Dolezal to transgender people. It’s the exact opposite of what he did. He pointed out that what she did is NOT the same as being transgender. If you’re going to be upset, you need to really understand what was being said.
