I don’t rightly see how it can’t be.
I don’t rightly see how it can’t be.
It certainly would make communities think twice about hosting for-profit prisons. Most of the benefit to Sheephump, PA hosting a SlaveTech, Inc. facility is that now a town of 400 has a guaranteed population increase of 4,000, none of whom can vote but all of whom count as residents for representation purposes.
Yeah. I REALLY don’t want to vote for him. I’d have to write a massive post to accurately illustrate why but the easiest explanation is that we can’t have more Trump and unchecked Republican judiciary stuffing. We just can’t.
Oh I’m well aware lol.
Cubans in Miami mostly live in a bubble. Every level of government and every facet of Law Enforcement here is mostly run by Cuban Americans. Most of us haven’t seen any overt bigotry pointed our way in 30-40 yrs.
They are considered Asian Hispanic. They were a separate culture and race from the rest of Asai until the Spanish did the “dont mind us, we are just colonizing” thing. It is the infusion if Spanish culture, foods, and language into theirs that makes distinction.
I’m glad you were able to interpret and explain what Biden meant, which now makes sense in the full context of “the diverse Latino community” (ie, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South Am., etc). And He needs stop digging himself a hole. This election is his to lose.
I felt that it was generally the Democratic voters that felt least worst about picking Biden to run against Trump, but Obama’s words do carry weight.
and Cubanos don’t give a fuck about anyone else as long as there’s not a whiff of Socialism.
Yeah, I get that too and would’ve added that if I wasn’t lazy. But yeah, worst way possible to say it.
There is more than one Hispanic culture, and they are wildly diverse.
See, I thought I knew what he meant too but it’s different from what you wrote and what you wrote makes sense as well.
I mean it was probably Obama’s idea for him to pick an African woman VP. They can only throw him a bone, not the whole pot roast.
He means diversity in opinion about the most important issues of the day. While most African Americans would probably say institutional racism and police brutality are key issues, you don’t have the same solidarity with Latinos. Central Americans might be more concerned about refugees, while Mexican Americans more…
I have to assume he meant that in presidential elections, african americans are much more predictable as a dem voting block. He’s Joe Biden though, so any time he mentions black people he will fuck it up badly. Statistically *if* that’s what he meant he’s not wrong he just CANNOT not fuck up talking about POC.
What does he mean, because I’m trying to parse if he means political diversity, racial diversity, or Tupac v. Biggie versity?
The worst thing is that I know what he means, but he says everything in the worst way possible that makes him sound so bad. He needs to make his VP choice and shut the fuck up.
Yeah, I really feel like I need to watch more Biden interviews, because I really hope he calls everybody “man.” (I’ll even settle for him calling white interviewers “dude” and “bro”; at least those are equally colloquial and “man” is arguably an upgrade.) But even with that context, this would be cringeworthy stuff.
Same guy who starts dropping “man” and “aint” when he’s addressing black people. Who would’ve guessed.
