If you really can't figure out the difference between:

Normative moral relativism = there is no such thing as right or wrong, and therefore we must tolerate all behaviours. This is often used when looking at other cultures (e.g. culture A eating their dead is not wrong because in THEIR culture it's right, so we cannot therefore judge). This is, in my opinion, a faulty

I'm sorry to hear that... I wish people would think these things through! :(

I am going to guess that you don't get the historical reference...

You seem to be conflating normative moral relativism with the concept that morality is relative. They are not the same thing.

Luckily I've never experienced that... but honestly, I think a lot of "good news" is no big deal. I mean, yay you did something 90 trillion other people have done. Good for you!

Yes... morality *IS* relative. But in the case of rape, is there any situation in which it is justifiable? I can't think of one (unless there was 1 man and 1 woman left on the entire planet and one of them was unwilling to propagate the species... MAYBE then, but then you're faced with whether or not propagating the

I've had this happen to me too. A cousin posted something like this... and of course I immediately assumed it was someone on our side of the family. It turned out it was an aunt/uncle on their non-related parents side that I had never met. But before I figured that out, I was freaking out.

I *ALMOST* found out that my mother had terminal cancer via facebook. I hadn't checked my computer and got the call from my mom. Immediately after, I looked on facebook and one of my dipshit cousins had posted it. Seriously?! Her own children didn't even know yet and you're announcing it on facebook!?! Complete

Read the comment I made to myself please.

Wow.

I can accept the possibility that I am wrong if given reason to believe so. But what you've said to me hasn't changed my opinion on my main point, which is that right and wrong are relative, and there is a possibility that these guys aren't horrible human beings.

Well what you're saying to me is incongruent to my comments. So if you did read my comment, then you're either just ignoring it, or you're having trouble understanding it. I *was* giving you the benefit of the doubt.

You're right... sometimes people are just assholes. But I will reserve making that judgement until I can understand why they did what they did. Until then, I think it's worth looking at it from both sides of the coin instead of just jumping on the bandwagon and burning them at the stake.

Something tells me that you didn't actually read it.
