"Her numbers make a case: Women now have half the jobs in the American workforce. Three quarters of the 7.5 million jobs lost during the recession belonged to men. Of the top fifteen growth industries in America, twelve are almost exclusively the preserve of women."

:41 = awesome.

I would just say "Nope. Mind your own damn business." And if they insisted, I would tell them to call the cops. Go ahead... arrest me.

And since when did they have rights to the words "bronze, silver, gold" and LONDON!? Fuck them. Crony capitalism is getting out of control and it's making me angrier by the minute.

This just pisses me off and makes me want to boycott all of those brands. What the fuck is this? Corporate fascism? I will wear/eat/display whatever the fuck I damn well please. You can suck on a piece of shit. ARGH!

It always gave me the heeby jeebies when he cut his mouth open and coughed out leaves etc. Yuck!

Haha! That's the only acceptable kind of spanking... the Clive Owen kind. Good clip :)

That's kind of a defeatist way to look at it - "well, the kid is going to be fucked up no matter what I do, so who cares?"

Can you please tell me the names of which articles you've read that are referring to serious physical abuse?

I linked to a TV show called Supernanny that demonstrates how to handle out of control children. I recommend watching a few episodes. She explains how to properly punish all types of children effectively.

If you can get the Supernanny series for her to watch, I highly recommend it. Supernanny teaches parents how to use the strategies themselves, and for varying situations. It's hard for people who grew up with corporal punishment themselves to do something other than what they've learned. Making it easier by giving

Did you look at any of the 30 or so articles I linked? Empirical studies actually make measures of corporal punishment, and VERY clearly define it. Sorry, but your argument doesn't hold water.

You're using that phrase wrong. Unless you want to call it reverse pearl clutching.

Me too. The show came out right around the time I was in the middle of high school. I didn't really have a strict position on the subject at the time, but knew that my mother had hit me, and my friend's parents had hit them, so that was just the way one should parent.

Now playing

I posted this in reply to someone else, but I feel like it would benefit a lot of people to see it.

My mother hit me when I was about 15, and I looked at her with the most stern, deadpan glare and gritted between my teeth "if you EVER hit me again, I will make you regret it". She never did... but I could tell that my patience for corporal punishment was running out and I was going to fight back. I wasn't a weak

I find it interesting that we gripe and complain about how everyone in advertising is skinny, photo-shopped and "unreal" ideals of the human form. We FINALLY get a representation of someone who is overweight, and it causes controversy.

Yea... I realize that it monopolizes your time. I am the same way with school... people ask me how my life is and it's pretty much the same response. Stressed because I have a shit ton of work for school due. Haha!

What I find annoying is new parents who suddenly lose their personal identity as soon as they have kids. Their profile pic is of their kids, you ask them how they are and they reply with an update on baby, and some will even stop making comments about themselves, but about their child.
