I was gonna respond but then I was like...

I’ve never seen any of the Kardashian shows (I think I saw a sneaker ad with Kim and Kris once?), so I have no personal stake in the War of Kardashian Independence. But I will confess this: the deep, bubbling, effervescent joy I feel when watching people LOSE THEIR FUCKING MINDS about this family is profound. It’s

ROSEN. I love Rosen. Rosen is how we would all act in this universe, with a constant what in the fuck is going on here face.

Matt Damon, stop talking. Just stop.

Im very partial to Dorthy Dandridge eyes...if you couldn’t tell lol

Yass she is the Archandroid, the Electric Lady, my Queen

I mean, this shaky Kevin Hart interview is still miles better than any Jimmy Fallon interview, not just his first one.

I watched the entire episode peeping through my fingers, afraid it was going to be terrible. It wasn’t. For a very first episode, I think he did tremendously well.

If you’ve ever seen early episodes of the Daily Show after Jon Stewart started hosting, they’re ... rough. Like, really rough. I’m willing to give Trevor Noah some time before I draw any conclusions.

Watching it now. I love him, and I think he is doing wonderfully so far. Also, I am so excited that two black men host the two “news” (more newsy than CNN, FOX, and MSNBC combined) shows on CC. And one is an immigrant. Time for some new perspective and new bold ideas in the war on bullshit! <3

It sounds like most places aren’t letting mothers leave at 4pm, and they are being labelled as not dedicated or dependable when they do ask for flexibility. Sexism in the workplace doesn’t get better when you have kids. It sucks all round.

Fun fact: the Europeans hate their system as well. So many Germans (well paid and health care) are burned out, stressed, or bored-out. Women have to work, and yet, childcare and flexible time is shit. Spain, Greece and Portugal have around 50% unemployment rates in certain age brackets. Sexism is rife. Barely any

I just cannot get over how ridiculous their latest tv ad/trailer is for this show. “The FBI’s sexiest recruits...in the best shape of their lives...all under one roof.” REALLY? It’s one step short of being like, “Young hot sexy people with guns solving crimes...also...boobs.”

Slaughter’s “needs list” is a great start. The thing that has made it very difficult for me, though, is the fact that health insurance coverage is tied to employment, and that most often means full-time employment. I have a chronic illness, so decent health insurance is an absolute necessity. My wife’s employer offers

I also think that fundamentally the capitalist system as practiced in America, with its hyperfocus on maximizing results at all costs, operates in concert with cultural stereotypes in a way that is detrimental to women. We teach boys to fight and women to compromise, and the capitalism we practice in this country

At one job, all I asked was to start a half-hour later in the morning, so that I could drop my son at school and have enough time to get through traffic to not be late. Also, I was working overtime every day, so it wasn’t like I was hustling out the door on time every night.

I am glad to see elder care mentioned and discussion of “family” leave. Because even if you don’t have children or plan to have children, women also generally end up bearing the responsibility of caring for sick parents/siblings/partners.

We’re also removed from the multi-generational living that used to exist in our culture. Living near retired parents who can help out is just not the norm anymore. Being isolated from reliable family makes it that much harder to have a work/life balance. I had to start my own business to be able to do it, and

Fuck everyone who’s ever made advertising look glamorous because now I hate my life.

Yeah Waleed, and another Aussie guy Charlie Pickering, are both brilliant at dissecting and explaining all sorts of issues. They explain it in a way that really makes sense.
