Woah!
Woah!
I’m down with any and all pieces that draw more attention to Accessibility issues (in all aspects of life). Thanks for this great read, Ethan Gach.
Another large-scale event producer here.
When I first read this story, my immediate reaction wasn’t to mock all these assholes who got stuck in the Bahamas. My first reaction was heart palpitations. This triggered all sorts of event planning nightmare/PTSD in me.
In the language of Alex Jones:
No he didn’t. He has full custody of his kids. His kids love him. He is in fact actually still married to his spouse. The kids are absolutely still living with him. Those empty bedrooms are not real.
This is such a nice reprieve from reading about all the Fyre Fest debacle.
At the end of the day, in terms of us musical entertainment, many of us will happily settle for this.
These kids are amazing.
I don’t get this line of argument though.
If the Fyre Festival was successful, you can bet Ja Rule would take full credit for its creation and installation. He wouldn’t be all like, “Well, I just want my name associated with this festival. But really all the credit goes to everyone else who did the planning and…
If you can, for sure visit your local comic book store. You get to support a small business and usually the staff there are the experts and can pair you with the comic book series or trade paperback that best fits your taste.
With that said, comics can be expensive (but mostly worth it), so as a newbie, it can be a…
Wut?
boo, I hear you. I grew up in a military and police family. I know how it works.
it’s because we don’t assume things work like that, that things ACTUALLY don’t work like that.
It’s lovely that you are taking the time to learn about the issues involved. And really kudos for being curious and wanting to enhance your knowledge base around this.
There’s also no reason to not just have a higher number of CC devices if you are a huge multiplex chain. You literally have the resources to provide for this. You can also market the use of these beyond HOH/deaf communities. Create programs with literacy organization. Hold regular “town halls” educating the wider…
I can appreciate that there is a behind-the-scenes scenario that is perhaps not being accounted for.
Your handle alone would otherwise make me happy, but you pointing me towards this podcast totally made my day! Thanks!
This is a fine argument, except you’re not standing on any moral high ground. Basically, most of the world agrees with you. We are not as a society moving towards a “zero sum game.” Casey Affleck won the fucking Best Actor Academy Award and by MOST accounts people still fucking love the dude.
Exactly.
Thanks for being brave and vulnerable on this forum. Sending good vibes your way and I encourage you to keep seeking and exploring on ways to help build your network of friends, chosen family, and support system(s). So, so important.
Your point is well made.
Let’s at least agree that Stella Bulochnikov is essentially a con artist who’s taking a playbook from Trump. Point at everyone and everything else, to distract from your own ineptitude.
To be fair (and note I am not defending Stella Bulochnikov), but given the venue (Times Square) and the live telecast (NYE), I think every artist would be required to sing to a track.
Agreed.
