When I first read this story, my immediate reaction wasn’t to mock all these assholes who got stuck in the Bahamas. My first reaction was heart palpitations. This triggered all sorts of event planning nightmare/PTSD in me.

This is such a nice reprieve from reading about all the Fyre Fest debacle.

It’s lovely that you are taking the time to learn about the issues involved. And really kudos for being curious and wanting to enhance your knowledge base around this.

There’s also no reason to not just have a higher number of CC devices if you are a huge multiplex chain. You literally have the resources to provide for this. You can also market the use of these beyond HOH/deaf communities. Create programs with literacy organization. Hold regular “town halls” educating the wider…

This is a fine argument, except you’re not standing on any moral high ground. Basically, most of the world agrees with you. We are not as a society moving towards a “zero sum game.” Casey Affleck won the fucking Best Actor Academy Award and by MOST accounts people still fucking love the dude.
