no she is referring to the “it” as herself which is why i wrote that she was deploying black men as “both object and misogynist,” although i’m mad now that i didn’t write “both object and objectifier,” as parallelism would have been better writing. fuck.
The more you travel, the more you see that racism is much worse in most parts of the world. The US is a racial utopia compared to Japan, Korea, China, Italy, middle east, many places in South America, etc. They are simply not bound by our social conventions and taboos.
Man you gotta hook me up with your dealer.
what leo is really talking about is dukkha
May I suggest a good red wine to go with the Parables. If this is your final good bye to a genius, might was well make it top-notch and top shelf.
Wow, 10 years. Well, I guess it’s time to read the two Parable books—I’d held off reading them because once I read them I’ll have no more Octavia Butlers left to anticipate. I think I may have read all of her stories, but maybe there are a couple of ones lurking around that didn’t make it into anthologies.
I met her when I was fifteen or sixteen. I was just shy of six feet tall even then and she towered over me. I was doubly awestruck because of that.
Has it really been 10 years? I’m wondering when the mention of her doesn’t also bring that sting of sadness that she’s no longer with us. It’s been wonderful to see just how much creativity across disciplines has been inspired by her work. I’m still holding out on reading that last slew of stories because I just can’t…
That was some Grade A nerdistry I just read. GRADE A CERTIFIED NERDISSERIE CHICKEN.
Wait a minute, how was the title of this article not:
Please don't be the worst timeline. Please don't be the worst timeline...
Don't worry, I feel the exact same way, lol
So much underline.....
am i the only one that actually kind of preferred the simplicity of the 90s internet? don't get me wrong, dial-up sucked balls, but it was a hell of a lot easier to find what you were looking for back then (despite the 75 different search engines) because wesites got to the goddamn point, rather than immersing you in…
Am I the only one my age (38) that still thinks the late 90's wasn't that long ago? I mean I know it is but it never feels that way until I do the math.
Still great
Bruno Mars better watch the fuck out. Because this guy is pissed off.
"There is a branch of human knowledge known as symbolic logic which can be used to prune away all sorts of clogging deadwood that clutters up human language."
Here's how it should end:
