You nailed it. Some shows should not be reviewed as stand alone episodes. You wouldn't judge a whole book one chapter at a time. This constant chase for immediate gratification is ridiculous, if we don't allow shows time to set up and lay the groundwork, then how can we expect them to weave something more complex…

Lee Pace's character was not an emperor. Also, what does the reviewer want them to do for an ending instead of a special effect filled big battle? Does he expect them to talk it out? because that would surely go over great with audiences.
