Saying that certain people should not be protected by the law because they have views you don’t share is a very slippery slope to start on.

Why would you say that? I think that the law that was in place was a good one as it protects victims. Here, you may not like the victims’ politics/religion or whatever, but that doesn’t mean they should be excluded from the law that protects them.

As a parent of a one and three year old, I fully realize that I am guilty of complaint-vomit because it’s one of the few recourses I feel that I have to deal with the stress that is parenting. Economic security. People are feeling insecure, and they regress and look for outgroups to blame. So what is making them insecure? Globalism? Jobs going offshore? Is there a way to reverse that trend? What about basic income? Or reducing free trade to have more control over local economies?

i have actually been to slovenia. The people I met did not seem culturally very different from those in northern italy or even bavaria. imo slovenians have more in common with alpine people than 80s movie villain east europeans.
