They weren’t legally married, AFAIK.

“Not do defend the guy” but (immediately defends the guy by publicly questioning the victim’s actions and reactions).

Uhm...often when someone is being assaulted, they fucking freeze. What is with the victim blaming here...

Just guessing, but I’m thinking that the 70 year old Mr Kawamoto might have some personal experience of the issue.

formerly known as Meth Damon!

I too felt personally attacked by this part.

Why would she care?”

Rowling is worth about $650 million, how would she even notice this? Why would she care? And what was she paying Donaldson, I wonder.

Your insinuation that someone with money shouldn’t care if an employee betrays their trust and your speculation that it was probably justified because she was underpaid are both offensive. Between this and the article shaming a 13 year old for a Halloween costume, I am wondering who handed out the bitter pills at Jez

A few things in that story didn’t add up. Hwy 132 is arrow-straight for almost all the time it’s in the Valley. It doesn’t really get up to any twisty turns until it’s in the mountains and well on its way to Yosemite.

You have. . . clearly never been to Fiji. Indian culture is a huge part of Fijian culture thanks to workers who were brought over. There are lots of melanesian Fijians, but also lots of Indo-Fijians. While in Fiji, I ate Indian food at least once a day, got henna done while laying on the beach, etc. It is a very

Fiji is 37.5% Indian.

Fiji has a sizeable population of Fijian Indians, a long-established ethnic group there. Just give it a Google.

Not really, I worked with a girl who was Indian and was from Fiji. Apparently there’s a very large Indian community in the islands. THAT SAID, everything else about that story seemed fake af. There were some waaaaaaaay better stories in the comments on the original post. This year's winners were pretty lame.

There are a lot of Indians living in Fiji, tho.

The Family is Forever one felt fake to me and then I noticed the teen bride had somehow managed to request to be buried in her wedding gown and conveniently died in a car accident soon after? There were seemingly true stories in the comments that were really creepy. If I want fake I can find that anywhere.

This year I only was able to read one story. It was the one where the girl got violently violated at her home

Glad I’m not the only one who thought so. The overuse of italics really took me out of the narrative flow.

Honestly, I thought that one was the least scary - it was so caught up in flowery language that it obscured anything scary in the story.

What’s the criteria for the best stories? Because I feel that most of these stories are written like fictional stories and are obviously made up which makes them not that scary. Mine, on the other hand, was brief because it really happened, non of it was made up. And in my opinion, that makes it scarier than most of
