Wrong place for this, but who the fuck do I talk to about the gigantic ass ads that cover large portion of text in every. single. article.

Oh ok so you’re just being deliberately obtuse as to why someone indoctrinated in something since birth hat tells them they're less than and must be subserviant, with no real education can’t “just leave”.
Seems reasonable. Just like poverty is a moral failing. If you can’t climb out of the pit you didn’t dig you are a bad person with no nuance.
And then those kids will turn 18 and it will be fuck them too.
Just once I wish the general public would realize celebrities can do whatever the fuck they want with their faces/bodies.
That makes it taste better.
Oh man, that kid. I feel so sorry for that kid. You also missed the part where he was black and gay. And super pro-Trump, because he believed Trump was the only pro-gay candidate, and then even after Trump came out against gay marriage the kid still supported him.
This reminds me of the teenage kid featured on This American Life who insisted that Trump was the best candidate for “gay rights.” Turns out, he was desperate to embrace being a Republican as a way to remain close to his super-evangelical parents who refused to accept a gay son. Not making excuses for her, maybe she’s…
HE DOES LOOK LIKE ONE OF THOSE!!!
Well, if Rick Scott is gonna be the VP nominee, we’re going to need some adjectives for him. I’ll start:
Oh dude, come onnnn! I can’t name a single Zendaya song, but that girl is EVERYWHERE! She’s on ProActive commercials, she’s all over this blog and others, she’s known. And I don’t think I need to defend the spawn of two super famous people. Everyone knows who she is, too. Don’t be silly.
they grow up so fast!
Yep, that was my experience. Dudes love to be desired given how many of their messages are never even replied to.
I’m disappointed in her — because in general, she seems lovely and I think she’s trying to be thoughtful and respectful. She missed here, unfortunately. It’s a great lesson in how good intentions don’t really insulate you from bad decision-making. I sincerely hope she takes this as an opportunity to learn and rethink…
That’s the thing — JKR seems to be so aware of the world (although she wasn’t necessarily in the books, but she’s writing diversity in, and I think that’s great); I don’t understand why she wouldn’t reach out to Native communities and, like, ask. Or something. I dunno. I’m disappointed in her.
No, that’s bullshit. She didn’t have to appropriate specific cultural stories. In writing the original series she didn’t make Jesus and Muhammad wizards, or Imams or Catholic priests or etc etc. Had she done so the screaming would still be going on. She created a mythos and culture for her wizards that was entirely…
Uh, this is pretty much the equivalent of saying that native representation in movies either doesn’t exist or can only be Johnny Depp playing Tonto.
She could have always used the actual native american myths and incorporated them into the story. What she did was take the real myths and change them to fit within her world, saying “this is what actually happened”. I’m sure nobody would have had any problems if she had portrayed them accurately.
