This has happened before guys, I think a couple of years ago in the same time frame. Definitely not the first tome since 2001

that is awesome.

I think this is an interesting survey. Primarily because, other than iPhone , it has excluded the largest segment of the smartphone game: the blackberry.

@pmindemann: yeah, they certainly bitch constantly right? I have four iPhone 4's and one 3GS on my plan. the new one's haven't any of these 'problems' at all. and if it was 'everyone', as they would have us believe., wouldn't the return rate be a little higher than 1.7%?

Okay guys, now it's time to move on but you have been then ones blowing this thing out of proportion the entire time. Nice.

@Realityism ▲: did you read anandtech? i understand what you are saying, okay. but here's the thing, shorts not withstanding, my older phones are doing the same goddamned thing with the new OS. that's why i'm convinced its a software thing with attenuation reporting or something along those lines.

@WilyFox: I read what he said jackass, but my questions remains: why would my 3GS and 3G do the same thing when they don't have external antennas? The incredible not withstanding, the e71 and nexus one videos illustrate the issue perfectly and their battery covers are not off.

@w204: well done. i have tried to reproduce this on my iPhone 4 and absolutely cannot. my 3GS and older 3G, on the other hand are exhibiting the issue described. this has to be a frequency/channel hopping issue related to the new OS.

@WilyFox: why is it bs if it's presenting the same issue?

@locust76: then why does my 3GS do and 3G do it also? they don't have external antennas.

@vitriolix: look at the E71 video posted earlier. or the droid incredible.

@stabbytheicepic: so, then the iPhone problem could be a software issue no?

@Realityism:

@Nw10jf: i will keep posting videos of other phones doing this all day. there are a ton of them....

@Zeek: no kidding
