Things are different over here in many ways. We sign a privacy waiver for every little thing. We dont gripe about preauth funds hold when we pay for gas at the pump. We fought hard to not be part of Europe.

Quotas have been expressly illegal for 50 years. I don’t get why this is still a legitimate discussion.

I think sports teams should be penalized until they show some diversity too. How come there aren’t a lot of Japanese and Indian players on American football and basketball teams? That just seems really unfair to me that the best players are being chosen rather than implementing diversity goals.

Do you have any idea what is actually in this bill or how it will impact banks, specifically those who are “too big to fail”? Or are you just saying things to sound smart?

Always bring an extra card. Something nice. Elegant. Flowery. All that. Doesn’t have to cost more than a few bucks, though. Don’t put your name on it, either. DO throw in a few pamphlets on various STDs (the older the better).

At least, this is a real innovation. What you are paying for is something they actually researched and went through all the expensive trials. Not an old molecule they repackaged in order to keep it patented.

These people have more history, substance and purpose than Beyonce, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian. I’d take a royal wedding over any of that overrated pop shit any day.

I’m sorry

Maybe if it’s some massive order or you’ve helped me with a special birthday donut or something, then I’ll tip.

I understand the pressure, I just usually power through it.

I’m a 20-25% tipper for table service. But buy-and-pay at

This is so true. I do feel that pressure to go along with what is already entered as suggested because they’re standing right there, but I have absolutely no qualms about pressing “other” and entering what I think is fair/standard.

Or any of the reasons the OP listed, or more. To me it comes down to not having the courtesy of saying thanks but no. Maybe because your afraid, maybe because other reason. Its rude regardless.

I never had trouble saying ‘thanks but no thanks’ but that’s the decent thing to do. If he keeps pleading his case after that, then yes, ignore him. Then again, decency is a dying art...

If you go on a date with someone and it turns out you’re not interested for whatever reason, but they seem like a decent enough person, then please just send a “thanks but no thanks” type of text— especially if they follow up. Unless the person you went on a date with has really a... concerning personality (aka serial

I was gonna say “that all makes sense, but how hard is it to just be an adult and say you’re not interested?” Then I realized that a guy who writes in to an advice column to ask about getting ghosted would probably be less than understanding and demand reasons or explanations and try to argue. Ghosting is annoying and

No.

Came here to say this. Do the gift card from Coinstar, and do it for somewhere that you order a lot from (Amazon comes to mind). Just make sure the Coinstar machine you are going to produces gift card codes.
