My pizza nirvana is Santarpio’s in East Boston. Is it actually the best pizza in the area? Nope! But the fact that it’s not super easy to get to (near the airport), you have to park under the Route 1 bridge, in one of the last sketchy parts of Boston (not for long though), and eat in this maybe/maybe not filthy

Plates are round because back in the day, before machines made everything for us, you made plates on a pottery wheel, just like a bowl.  You’re not getting anything square off that.

General Booty was criminally under ranked.  He may have never been Jizyah Shorts, but he’s better than most of the names on this list.

I worked at an old pizza hut that made all the dough fresh every day.  Then they closed it and opened up a new one in a town over, since I was two months from going away to college, I stayed on for that summer, and the new one didn’t even come with a dough mixer.  Frozen dough was shit, and especially for the hand

I’d much rather have interesting dudes giving interesting thoughts a la the NBA than players unjustly silenced and blackballed from the league because they didn’t pledge fealty to damaging, dangerous, jingoistic nationalism.

I guess the definition of Yankee depends on where you are.  In the northern US? Probably means a New Englander of sorts.  Southern US?  Northerners in general.  Anywhere else in the US?  Probably just a member of a baseball team based in New York.  The rest of the world?  A slang term for someone from the US!

I wish baseball players would be as outspoken as the NBA counterparts and that players were allowed to have more freedom of expression, but baseball also has a lot of hicks and rubes and surly jerks who play the game. For every even moderately interesting or little bit politically outspoken guy like CC Sabathia or

Man, I wish BioWare would have gone and made significant improvements upon ME:A and brought us more stories (RIP Quarian Ark) instead of dumping it.

I’ve heard this double the tax method, but I came from a place where room and meals taxes were 9% of the bill. It was more supposed to give you an idea of what is the right amount to tip by making the math a little easier to digest. You still rounded up a little to get to 20%.

I think tip creep is real, as I feel like I’m constantly learning that I’m supposed to be tipping more people more money than I traditionally thought. But part of it is that wages fucking suck and wage growth had not kept up for the lower end of the income ladder. In countries where working class people make living

As a Yankee fan as well, I don’t know why but I also have a soft spot for this team. It’s maddening when NY loses 2 of 3 at home to a team so obviously not trying, but I still kind of root for them?  I love that stadium, and when the O’s were good and worth cheering on recently, it was a fun place to watch a game.

I thought you said you bought at the bottom of the market.  Either way, unless you're underwater, which maybe you are, or you bought more than you can afford, you'll likely come out ok.

Well, has the value of your home appreciated at all?  I recently sold my condo that I owned for 3 years and 7 months, and got what amounted to a CAGR of 4.67% each year.  It’s not a huge return, but condos don’t appreciate quite like SFHs do, on average.  And rent in that area for what I owned was about the same

If I remember correctly, the game didn’t limit you to five in-game days as a forklift operator.  You have to do some things on your breaks and question the right people to advance.  I could have sworn I spent waaaaay more than five in-game days as a forklift operator.

On your last point, the thing is, the way stuff works is you often fail upwards.  People make bad decisions then get promoted to make larger, worse decisions!

There is a complicated history here. First of all, unlike Japan and Germany, Italy switched sides after Mussolini was deposed. Secondly, while control of Germany was divided between the allies, Italy remained independent with a strong Communist party.  The fascists were obviously anti commie and were kept around to

I mean, what high school?  Most kids who play at public high schools aren’t even looked at for the major college programs or pro prep programs.  The kids I knew who wanted to try and make it in hockey, baseball, and basketball all went to the snooty, elite New England prep schools.  Maybe you have to do the AAU or

I’m not one to promote Fenway, because it’s kind of a dump with a lot of lipstick thrown on it, but I appreciate that you don’t need to park to go there.  Sure, the MBTA is kind of a mess at times, but at least east and west of the park, you can take the Green Line, or if you live along the Worcester line, the

The ChiSox must be terrible at player evaluation then. Maybe Tatis Jr. doesn’t develop quite the same way in Chicago as he does with San Diego, but the kid was always toolsy. He may have had holes in his game, but you don’t trade a tooled up guy like him when he’s only 17 for 2016 James Fucking Shields (a -1.0 WAR
