I can’t say looking strictly at the picture I would be excited to jump on something like this concoction. However, after reading your description and being adventurous and hungry, I would give it a try—the flavors are one thing but the textures seem unusual, intriguing, and filling.

So glad to hear you enjoyed it! She is invited to a festival nearby showing “You Hurt...” and “Enough Said” and maybe more showcasing will follow. I would love to attend and thank her for that last wonderful Gandolfini role and also for never heading into cheesy territory, gathering wonderful casts and allowing them

Agree with all except.. Pepperoni? Maybe a hot melted pizza sandwich hybrid, dunno.... Growing up we often had a leg of prosciutto to share with my Italian relatives and until I was older and out of the house, didn’t realize how it was $uch a luxury.

HBO used to have a new movie every week, now they have a new movie now and again and a “Classic” for all the other weeks filling in. Showtime and Starz even more. You nailed it. I don’t mind watching some of the old stuff now and again.

I feel the same way about Nancy Meyers. I am supposed to be within the female demographic parameters but find her films predictable, not relatable, lacking even a half-smile with convoluted character interactions, full leg-of-ham performances and ridiculous arcs. Nicole Holofcener does what Meyers never seems to achiev

Also, after decades of this subject, why do they have to keep digging up the same thing again and again without a shred of improvement? Godzilla, King Kong, etc. Nowadays my sympathy is with the big guys not the exploitative humans and I am weary hearing about another reboot ad nauseam. Stop, just stop. It is no

Thank you! This is a clearly a list from the mind of a single individual. One person doesn’t remember the plot and all of a sudden “everyone” has forgotten it. Well directed, fantastically paced, surprising at times, and clever, not to mention a big award winner! As a movie buff of COURSE I remember more than the song

This is the sad flip side of “The Best Show You Aren’t Watching.” Take a well written, nicely plotted, brilliantly acted show, celebrated by many, and of course there will be someone who not only doesn’t like the series but has to go on and on about it. I never ended up getting far into the shows Lost or 24 but good

Thanks Marnie, I guess I feel like lately it has been a lot of “Now with almonds instead of peanuts!” or “Instead of chocolate covered vanilla, we have vanilla covered chocolate!” you know candy bars and snacks with variations on a theme, not anything really new, unusual or spectacular. Nice to hear you have found

Except for the Kazbar it sounds like a lot of renaming, sizing differences, flavor additions and mix-em-ups, but not a lot of anything new or innovative? Sequels, reboot, rename, relaunch. Maybe look at snacks in other countries and bring a little something new to our shores?

My friend says when she goes to places and asks if the coffee is fresh and they insist it is but when she adds milk and sees the difference (I am not sure how long it takes for the cream to not show as a soft cloud?) she knows they are lying! Also my late mother said when she was a waitress at  restaurants back in the

Thank you for your take on these films. I have seen the majority of these, and though there are clever elements in all, most are about 3/4 of a good idea with a terrible third act. None of them were “log-off of Social Media” frightening, though I thought Unfriended/UDW made great use of the premise. Deadstream had

Yes, and I haven’t seen Meeks since it was released where I was the only one in the theater, I remember walking out feeling completely beat down—much like after watching 1883.

Right! It was never my favorite stuff to watch when he would go physically ballistic on The Sopranos, I loved that crunchy under-the-surface smiling with teeth only look he could get muster as a dangerous menace in that show and other roles. I had heard in God Of Carnage he had a presence which you could feel up into

Audio only doesn’t make a moron less of a moron—it allows your mind to fill in the visual blanks, like not seeing the monster in a horror movie. You are not wrong about the dope with the derp, but you try walking around in high heels all day and not end up making at least half those faces?!

The diner she frequents has a salty waitress, who is really good but old school so that first cup is filled before you even get settled in! I just texted her about what she sees, she was a waitress herself for years. If the coffee is freshly made, when you put milk in it looks like a beautiful blooming clean cloud

She has had a varied, and well rounded career with a long list of films, TV, writing and directing. I noticed she is listed as director on some episodes of Lucky Hank recently. What I love about Holofcener’s films is her ability to make characters realistic and relatable, in everyday situations. Also, they can have

Thank you for explaining. She always makes a big deal of how the milk looks in the cup—at her fave diner I don’t know if she would be able to add the coffee to the milk; maybe before they pour, but I will impart the info.

I am a tea drinker, not sure if it is the same but my diner-coffee drinking friend says she can tell whether the coffee is fresh or not by the way the milk looks when she adds it to the hot coffee cup, something about the color and the way it blooms—does it blend or taste better when you add it first?

Over Macho Grande? -------------------No, I won’t ever get over Macho Grande.
