People who are sticking up for Epic like they are some small company sticking up for the lowly game devs by giving them more money (despite that money actually going to the Publishers) confuse me. Like how do they not get that Epic is big and can only afford to do this because they take a cut of nearly every game…

There is zero benefit to the customer when Epic nabs an exclusive for themselves, and several tangible negatives. It’s pretty straightforward to understand, and so thank you for this breakdown.

Opting out of reviews and not having forums is a huge fuck you to consumers. I know they can be toxic but they are also how numerous developers have been pressured to actually fix their games. Taking away consumer voices is not good thing,  just because someone somewhere at some point maybe had their feelings hurt.

Kirk, this is easily the best game review I’ve ever read, but also the best writing of any kind that I’ve read on this website. I enjoyed your creative narrative prose over the the technical trappings of FPS and other “data.”

Maybe it’s just my taste in humor, but I never feel like I get any of Penny Arcade’s jokes. I feel like I either have to spend way too much time thinking about the punchline, or it sails over my head entirely because of how vaguely the strip is written. Anyone else have this problem?
