The state shouldn’t matter since all those chains are prevalent in the South. Everyone in the South knows that KFC is trash, while Bojangles is fucking great.

Why would you even need a shortcut for such a simple dish? You aren’t saving much time by skipping a few ingredients and steps, you are just making a less appealing dish. It isn’t the same as sausage, which is actually labor intensive. You are describing something more akin to using ketchup over tomato sauce on pasta.
