@pixelsnader: I'm not so sure about Win7 sucking batteries dry...at least not too quickly. My netbook used to last 6-9 hours running win7 pro easily.

@zackfair: The problem with that is that they would have to rewrite that whole portion of their SDK where this came from after disabling this code, which would end up causing problems for developers...

@LandMineLandSnake: If I remember correctly, they were going to make it so you couldn't play through the game in detective mode 100% of the time...these leads to the detective mode having some sort of duration (batteries, etc...)
