Very sad news.
The BBC have reported that Alan Rickman has sadly passed away from cancer.
They have voiced their public objection to gay parenting and called IVF children "synthetic" and branded them as wrong.
I know this isn't really "Observation Deck" sort of stuff, but I'm unbelievably angry at this. For the record, I am neither gay nor an IVF child, in case anyone thinks I have some sort of personal…
As a heads-up, for anyone who is in the UK, the National Theatre Live version of Danny Boyle's Frankenstein is getting a brief encore showing in certain cinemas.
Opinions are like assh... umm, lovely brains. We all have them, but often we can't control them and they go against what we might actually want them to do.

You ever sit there, watching a show or a film, and someone in said production just utterly reminds you of someone else, even if they don't *really* look all that much like them?
With the high profile, and very sad, passing of Robin Williams yesterday, I'm sure many of us have reflected on depression, whether we have suffered ourselves (and I have, very much), or have seen a friend or loved one struggle with this disease.

I'm from the UK, so I'm going to cite two examples here of things that baffle the hell out of me about the American approach to television.
As any child of the 80s will know, music videos used to be something special, to be cherished and admired while watching The Chart Show on a Saturday morning (in the UK) and MTV if you were a bit fancier.
