Always good practice, regardless of the brand or quality of the equipment. I leave some weight on the jack to make sure nothing shifts. And when I take the wheels off, I slide them under the car.
maybe allows me to broaden my personal life beyond wrenching
Clearly just driving the closed race course. No traffic. Stabilized video. Yuck.
I crewed for a guy who’s rally service truck was a similar vintage Ford F350 with a 7.3l Powerstroke and a manual. I drove it a few times with a beefy enclosed trailer, full of race car and spares. What a beast. And just for the hell of it, I put the transfer case in 4Lo and then used the granny first gear....what a…
Yep, seen it on a few different vehicles. There’s usually a little oil seal where the shaft goes through the casing that has failed.
It’s tight, but a pretty good fit. I’m using the stock Lexus auto transmission and a T100 transfer case. I also have a 2" body lift which simplifies front diff/steering linkage clearance. There’s a 1UZ Toyota pickup/4Runner group on Facebook, lots of people doing this swap, and people love them.
Nothing to do with the pandemic, I’m still working full time (not from home). I’ve been gathering parts and knowledge to do this for almost 2 years, and the plan has always been to really ramp up when the snow melted this spring.
I’m here to say, there’s nothing wrong with having 10 cars, all broken. Wrench away, but don’t be ashamed.
I don’t know if I’m impressed or horrified...
Good spot. I was focusing on the folding mirrors, though the more I think about it, those may have been available elsewhere.
To heck with the FTOs, JDM Celica GT4 (black, lower left, hood scoop):
He who can eliminate the drone, shall be rewarded with a car.
A good friend of mine has a number of old SAABs, and the longitudinal FF layout and that rear suspension screams SAAB to me, but I don’t remember any of them having a legit frame.
Yep. I have a MN “Enhanced” license, which technically should meet the requirement, but doesn’t have the star.
What should they have shown in that instance? The race was over. The only things happening were the victory celebration and crash recovery....
It makes the Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed car that I own (Subaru SVX) look like a reserved design...
I probably would enjoy this article if it weren’t dripping with political rhetoric.
That was my thought as well. Then I read this paragraph.
This just in....SUVs do not have more interior space. I bet you’d find you fit fantastically in a station wagon or minivan. I bet you’d fit decently in a Fit, if you tried.
