I didn’t vote, as it’s not a nice price, but it’ll probably sell for pretty close to that much. I can’t believe the demand for these lately. I had a guy knock on my door and make a rediculous offer for mine, and mine’s a completely rusted out, neglected POS.

I’ve accumulated more of the correct tools, I own a garage, with concrete under it, and heat. I have multiple vehicles that are all road-worthy and reliable and insured and in better shape than what I had 10-15 years ago.

Yes, there are many things that change from longblock to completed engine. Like a typical SR20 build has a turbo on it (which definitely weighs more than an exhaust manifold/header). Also these are shipping weights, and really not that terribly accurate.

Surefire engines lists the dry shipping weight of an SR20DE Longblock at 240 lbs. And a VH45DE at 280 lbs. Just saying

I nominate the Subaru Impreza Casa Blanca

We’ve got 2 locally, one with an SR20DET, and the other with an RB (I don’t remember which one, probably 25, but it’s got one big turbo on it now)

Oh yea. ‘80s Subarus and their timing belts....

I agree that the timing looks to be off. How is the cam driven on that engine?

Reliant Robin:

Manuals can be great, but you need to have enough gearing. Once you start getting tires more than a few inches larger than original, it costs big bucks to regear your axles and/or transfer case

My 4" lifted ‘88 Subaru GL going out with the local Jeep club back in 2006:

This article is very weird....

My now-wife had a 2004 Kia Spectra when I met her. What a pile.

I wouldn’t pay that much...

Tires and Brakes

I don’t think I’ve ever bought or passed on a car based on it’s color....

Yep, I always assume that a painted Delorean is a dented Delorean

Negative. “...the speed limit, which I was going, was 40 mph”

I see both sides of the argument. There needs to be some wording that leaves it up to the opinion of the officer, as we all know there are people who drive ridiculous speeds in terrible weather.

Are soft-top Miatas really that bad? I have a ‘91 Celica convertible, and it’s no colder in the winter (here in northern MN) than my hardtop ‘92 was. With only slightly more wind noise. And I replaced the top myself when I bought it....
