Actually most visual novels (or eroge, or hentai games, or whatever you want to call that) originates in PC. Then some of the good ones get ported to PSP or PS Vita, most likely because (a) they are extremely popular in Japan and (b) porting to these platforms is easer and cheaper than porting to PS3 or something.
