As shown in the video, there is an icon in the taskbar that you can right click with the option to untick 'Restore on reboot'
Can you try a Google Reader style J/K system to jump from article to article on the homepage, because each story takes up a lot of room so it's a lot of scrolling to browse from one article to the next.
Isn't this what firefoxOS was meant to do?
I can understand the first point, though equally, it means that the click target is now larger. With regards the hover highlight, I think you may need to adjust your screen. It's light sure, but it shouldn't be at all difficult to see.
